Pros: The Diner
Place is clean, fairly modern, and it has a diner with good food that gives you free REAL breakfast.

Oak Tree Inn in Rawlins, Wyoming

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: The Diner is a winner.
The Diner serves excellent food surprisingly quickly. However, because the Diner does not have toilet facilities, the hotel leaves a door unlocked in the hotel for diner customers to use restroom. Unfortunately, the doors can blow open in windy conditions. Rawlins seems to be constantly windly.

Great room just wish there was a comfortter on bed

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Wonderful room. Great breakfast. Wish there was a comforter on the bed In stead of just the insulator blanket. Staff could have been better at hotel. Diner was great. Wonderful for a late night check in.

If you are ever snowed in in Rawlins, WY

Posted Dec 20, 2014
Great accommodations and the added plus was Penny's Diner! Guests actually check in at the diner and once you do you will want to stay and eat a meal. I will stay there again the next time I am snowed in in Rawlins, WY :-)

Just a place to sleep...

Posted Dec 2, 2014
We arrived at 11:00 PM and just needed a place to sleep. The room had garbage left from a previous tenant (empty water bottles) and there were no bath towels in the room. We had to leave by 7:00 am the next morning so we didn't need to stay there long. If it had been a longer stay I would have asked for another (cleaner) room.

Hard bed

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Price, taste of food
Cons: Office moved to hotel. Resturant updated and dep cleaned.
Location: Just passed thru town.
Electronic Key system was broken, we we're never given a key. The maintenance man had to hold the door for us while we brought our luggage in. No key was ever slipped under the door. Breakfast was good but the diner is aged and not well cared for. Bed was hard.

Sleep in your car

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Bed was comfortable, food ok
Cons: Customer service, employee attitude, housekeeping, staff should be wearing uniforms and nametags
Dirty bathroom, stained sheets, no ice bucket. Soda machine took my money and when I asked for a refund, I was told that I have to reach my arm up into the machine to get my purchase. I ordered food to go and went back to my room for about ten minutes. On my way back to the diner, I ran into the employee who took my food order and she said my order was up. When I went into the diner, I found that my food was not ready( a hamburger and fries). I asked the cook why my hamburger was not even started yet and he replied that he was training someone. I asked him if he was training the new employee to prepare one order at a time since there were only 4 people in the restaurant at the time and two of them were already eating. He replied in the most rude and condescending tone, "What don't you understand about I'm training someone?" There was one order on the grill and he was showing the new cook how to use a spatula. He went on to say angrily to me," I'm not supposed to be here". After a few more minutes he reached into a refrigerated drawer next to the grill and started to cook my food. I asked the front desk attendant who was in charge of the kitchen, and she said that the man that I was speaking to about my order was in charge. I asked for his name so that I could make this incident known to the owners of this hotel, and the front desk attendant refused to disclose the cooks name. The staff here is the most unprofessional that I have ever encountered.

Good Place to Stay!

We were there for one night and all was fine! Our room only had a shower and I like tubs but it was still a great place to stay!
