“Very relaxing and private”
Rebak Island is a private hideaway. We felt like we were the only ones on the beach and the service we received from all of the staff was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel for those couples wishing a private & relaxing holiday. For those who want to experience the local dining / beach / shopping of Langkawi, I would suggest they stay on the mainland. Overall we had a ball, we only had 3 days and our main aim was to relax - the resort was perfect for us.
“Rebak Island Resort , Langkawi Malaysia”
the location of the jetty for ferry transfer to Rebak Island is only 5min taxi ride from Airport which was a breeze and easy. We were well welcome and escorted to the room without much fuss. The resort is extremely well kept and has good choice of F&B which meets more than our need. Comparing the time needed to travel to Pantai Cenang and Kuah from the Langkasuka port , this hotel does not invoncenient us at all. In fact, for the money spend, it was well worth it's price.
“nice small island getaway”
Excellent service and beautiful large sea view room. Good food. Seems to be a popular stop-over for private yachts. Limited options for activities that you can do on your own. Sandy beach is ok, water is murky and corals are mostly dead. Rooms and activities are somewhat overpriced. Don't feed the monkeys.
“Going to Langkawi? Stay at Rebak Island Resort”
From the moment you exit the arrival hall at the Langkawi airport, you feel the warm welcome of the Rebak Island Resort staff (of course you need to arrange with the hotel for airport pickup for a suitable extra charge). When you reach the Hotel on the islan via the hotel shuttle boat, the welcome gets warmer. While the hotel facilities are being explained to you at the open hotel lobby, you are invited to enjoy a cold delecious glass of fresh pinapple juice. Rooms are spacious, hotel is quite, staff are overly friendly, and hotel facilities are enjoyable, mostly free of charge. If you want to relax away from the city noise, Rebak Island Resort is the place you need to go to. After Rebak Island Resort, I went to some other nice hotels. However, most seemed to me not so cool. The reason is obvious. I was comparing them to Rebak.
“Outstanding place for vacation”
Very comfortable hotel. Although I have worries before coming to the hotel as it is located in an island 4KM from the Langkawi main island, it turns out the regular boat between 2 islands is pretty convevient. The last boat is 10:30pm, which is late enough as I am not bar animal. The beach in front of the resort and the swimming pool are lovely. The breakfast is good, lots of choices, and the dinning hall has wonderful sea view. Recommend to rent a car for vacation in main island in airport BEFORE leaving the airport as all car rental companies are in the arrival area. The harbor is a good place to take nice photos for those ships.
“Amazing Location - Deluxe room could be better lit”
I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights in a deluxe room. The 1st impressions from outside was great. But once we got in the room, it was too dark even with all the lights on. If you turn off the master switch, all plugs will turn off and you can't use battery chargers or any other appliance.
“Relaxation, relaxation, relaxation!”
Lazing by the pool or on the beach and forget all the cares of the world. If this is your thing, you will really enjoy Rebak Island Resort. No noisy nightclub or drunken yobbos to spoil the peace and quiet of the island - just couples and families typically with older children. There's also free kayaking, cycling and eco-walks for those who want some physical activity in thier day. The only drawbacks are the fact that the island is close to the Langkawi flight path so you see and hear the planes as they land and takeoff and the food is a little bit on the expensive side but given that everything has to be ferried in for Langkawi including some of the staff, its not unreasonable.
“Ideal relaxation”
Rebak Island provides a superbly relaxing experience in high quality surroundings. It is not for those heavily into adventure sports, hard partying, or glitz, but for those seeking a quiet and relaxing stay, it is ideal. Staff we always helpful and friendly. The only thing the hotel could improve is a little more attention to the menu, and the proviision of a clear schedule of meals such as buffets in advance.
“Great service, but poor maintenance”
This is a place to go if you want peace and quiet, very nice resort, great service, friendly staff (maybe a bit too friendly once they noticed I gave tips). The positive image is ruined by cheap quality or poor maintenance. The piping/plumbing was lose, the minibar was not cold, the AC unit made a terrible noise, etc. These things became quite important since the weather was not the best and quite some time was spent inside. Finally, the internet connection was a disaster, which made the picture complete for me. Maybe that is not so important to a lot of people, but for me it is. Being on a small island with no other facilities than the resort itself, requires nice weather in order to enjoy the stay as well as being able to go on safari, cruise, etc. When the weather is not nice it is important that the quality of the resort is tip top.. and it was not. With just a bit more focus on quality and maintenance and a bit more money spent by the owners, this would make a huge difference.
“Rebak Island resort”
The resort is over due for renovations if it is to be classed as a 5 star resort, we enjoyed the stay the food was exselent as was the service but 4 nights was anought as there is not a lot to do apart from the pool. Transfer from the Island was ok but lacking in saftety gear. A good place if you enjoy being away from the night life.
