Great location, very nice rooms, great common space to spread out and enjoy -- 2nd floor balcony porch, 4th floor enclosed sitting room and outdoor tables, etc. Window unit AC is not the best but certainly better than nothing. Restaurant on site was very good.

Great Clean Hotel

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness of the rooms and all common areas of the hotel. Room was very spacious.
Cons: The size of the tv for our room size
Location: The Jersey Shore outlets, Beach, restaurants, Ice cream shops, Quick check.
Just loved it will definitely be back the end of August for 2 nights. Very comfortable for a family of 4. My two sons were so happy that they had gotten to stay at a B&B in Ocean Grove. We usually stay at the Marriott, but we were so lucky they had availability. The common front porch area was great and the views were just awesome.

Biggest rooms in OG

Perfect! Nice sized rooms--loved it! Everything was great. It wasn't pristine, but it was clean. I was really happy with the room. I've stayed everywhere in OG and this room was big in comparison!

Enjoyable experience

Posted Jun 2, 2014
I would recommend this place to someone who is looking for a place to stay that is close to the beach/boardwalk. They have a restaurant downstairs that had excellent seafood (a little pricey) but was very good. Later on in the evening I went to the restaurant and ordered 2 desserts (delicious) and they had them sent to the room. The room itself was not very big (room 6) but if it is only you and your significant other it should be plenty. The bed was comfortable and it opened out to a small balcony where you had a side view of the ocean. Pros: Very friendly and informative staff, had a very "homely" feel to it, very comfortable bed, affordable rates, close to the beach/boardwalk. Cons: Small television, could hear footsteps above room, it was hard to find a parking spot during the day. If I happen to come to this area again, majestic will be first on the list.

Cries for maintenance/repair

Not yet recovered from Sandy. But, many in-room issues that should be noticed by housekeeping and reported/fixed. Staff did not ask for suggestions, observations or feedback.

Pleasant one night stay

Posted May 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall, a great experience for a night away. Because it was mid-week and off-season, it was extremely affordable. Ocean Grove is a cute town with many quaint shops. The updated room we stayed in did not advertise an ocean view and yet still had a small balcony where the ocean was visible.

Great location, friendly staff, but an old hotel

Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: Very friendly helpful staff. Great location, just a block from the ocean. Clean, comfortable room. Personalized continental breakfast
Cons: Update the coffee maker Provide wash cloths in the bathroom (this probably was just an oversight) Install screens on all the windows for fresh air
Location: Ocean Grove is dry, but the restaurants are BYOB. Good place for kids, as you don't have the bar/sleaze factor that is found in nearby beach towns.
I stayed here for just one night after Easter and would recommend it with some caveats. Ocean Grove obviously is a beach town, and I stayed on a Monday night. Many stores and restaurants are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday, so I didn't get to see everything I would have liked. I love walking the beach but do not care to see people in bathing suits, so I went in April. It was perfect for me, and I would return in the Fall. The hotel is old, but in good condition. You won't find some of the fine details that are in more modern facilities, and some of the fixtures and appliances are old, but everything is in good working order. For the continental breakfast, you fill out your order the night before, and designate the time you'd like it. In the morning you go down to the dining area and the owner brings you your breakfast. So there's a personal touch, and the hotel doesn't waste money providing a lot of food that might go to waste.

Can't fault it

We had an excellent one night stay in a good looking and comfortable room with balcony. Staff were very friendly and told us about the local area. The hotel is close to the Main Street and beach, and a short walk from the restaurants in Asbury Park. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and thought it was good value.
