Very friendly, accommodating staff... comfy, cozy atmosphere throughout... a simple and satisfying made to order breakfast.... well placed to explore the sights, shops and fine dining of nearby Rhinebeck.!

Charming old country Inn, right on the main road in Red Hook. The Owner/host very friendly and accommodating; giving us an early check in and some wonderful and helpful ideas of local sights and attractions. Very enthusiastic and a great ambassador for the Hudson Valley. Her husband also friendly and a great cook; enjoyed our breakfast and good company of fellow guests. My only complaint was that the mattress on my bed was too old and soft. Would definitely recommend to others.

Don't Do It

Posted Oct 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were put into a "suite". Holes in the wall covered with a cheap, tin mirror, towel rack brackets above the sink with no towel rack, lamps with burned out light bulbs, cheap plastic blinds that did not turn, TV that didn't work. The proprietor said that the room was under construction and we were put there by mistake.....I spoke with her personally the day before and she was the one who did the room assignment. We looked at a newly done room....still done on the cheap. We expressed our disappointment nicely and they said they would "make it right....but nothing on my credit card or no check. Wouldn't recommend this Inn.

A Delightful Surprise

Pros: Comfort of the bed, made to order breakfasts, constant friendliness and availability.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Nice little town with lots of antiquing opportunities nearby.
We had to book our two night stay after our original hotel told us they were overbooked. This hotel was more money than where we had been booked previously and we were originally not happy being moved. However, Pat was delightful, the consummate hostess and alternately friendly, but willing to let us have our space. The room had a wonderfully comfortable bed, everything we needed we obtained on a moments notice, the made-to-order breakfasts were superlative and served with a smile even though our schedule was somewhat different than the other guests in the place. We hope to have the opportunity to return and will definitely do so if we can - perhaps for a week next time.

Hospitality First in scenic small town

We had an adorable stay at the Red Hook Inn. The experience was private, personable, intimate, and we were extremely well-cared for by our hosts. The Inn is full of personal detail and charm; we had a fantastic and fun time getting away from the city. Don't forget to take advantage of the hot tub in the delightful backyard!

Not again

Pre-season arrival was disappointing. Recent surprise roof replacement had lead to extensive exterior repairs still in progress and shabby appearance. Dismal downstairs lobby. Rooms comfortable, but insufficent lighting. Owner very earnest in updating the whole Inn, but much more needs to be done to match the reality with the write-up.
