Pleasant and clean hotel

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Clean room, nice staff, good breakfast
Cons: The WiFi was pretty awful.
Location: The neighborhood seemed nice. I didn't spend much time in the area but the park across the street was pretty.
It was a little further away from the center of London than I would have liked, but I knew that before I booked and that's the trade off for a low price. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The only disappointing thing was the WiFi. It connected very inconsistently and was slow when I could connect. Part of the reason I chose this hotel was the free WiFi since it was my main way of communicating with my family back in the US. Some nights I wasn't able to check or read my email. Also, the room was very small. I didn't mind since I didn't spend much time there but that should be something you know going in.

Good for an overnight stay.

Pros: Bargain price.
Cons: Struggled to get hot water for a shower at about 9.30am. This could do with addressing.
Location: Lovely park across the road. Not too far from the tube.
Good for an overnight stay, great for the price. Breakfast constantly restocked.

Cheap hotel with breakfast included!!

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Well priced with breakfast. Decent rooms and parking. No problem with very late check-in.
Cons: Variety of food at breakfast.
Location: Location is good. Next to the park and a 5 min bus journey to Ilford high street. A selection of pubs and takeaways nearby too.
Needed a place to stay at very short notice near the east side of London. Got this place last minute for three people and price included breakfast. We eventually checked in at 1am due to a function running late in Kings Cross. The hotel rang me at 11pm to check we were still coming - which was nice of them to do so. They were fine about us arriving late too. the guy on reception was very pleasant and showed us the breakfast room and then showed us our room. He made every effort to ensure we were happy with our room before he left which was nice. Breakfast was average but it was hot, and edible which is good enough for me! Beds were comfy, room was warm and clean and also plenty of tea and coffee. Can't really say anything bad about this place as everything was ok. Also had parking!!

What a hovel

Posted Nov 5, 2013
I booked a room for 5 and was given a room for 4. It was dirty, the beds were rock hard, the pillows were very thin, the plug sockets didn't work, the radiator was hanging off the wall and we weren't informed that it is also a half way house! My children didn't feel safe, the bacon wasn't bacon but we weren't informed that it wasn't bacon and we couldn't wait to get out of there! Thank goodness it was just one night and the staff were very rude! The lake isn't at the hotel as stated on the website and I don't know where the pictures were taken but it wasn't of this hotel! Don't stay there, I felt sick!!

The room is a garage modification. The door cannot be locked. The staff was terrible. Save yourself from this hotel!!!

Let down by the noise

Posted Jul 18, 2013
Pros: Reception staff
Cons: Noise, shape of room - felt a bit claustrophobic
Location: Great location
I would have rated this hotel much more had it not been for the general noisiness and that the room was supposed to have a bath. The staff we're very friendly and helpful and the food was ok but with more choice I would have said very good.

Great cheap place to sleep 10 to a room.

Posted May 20, 2013
Very disappointed ! Booked on the internet for 3 adults and 2 children, aged 7 and 12 (ages were given) and on arrival was only given room with sleeping for 4, 1 double and 2 single. They said their policy was to have maximum beds for four people, even though you book for five. I said I assumed they would put in an extra bed (even a camper bed would have done) but no, they couldn't even do that. It was wrong for us to assume that they said as sometimes they have families who will put even more people in a room. They only charge for the room. In the end we squeezed 3 in the double but had an uncomfortable night. Very un-understanding staff. They couldn't understand why we were upset !!

Not the best place and not so clean.

Posted May 13, 2013
The price doesn't match the quality. The staff was not really nice, and breakfast was only until 8:30. After that they locked the door. I didn't feel comfortable overall.

Hygiene

Floor of toilet need cleaning. Same basket was used to hold cleaning agents and tea bags and milk and the same hand was used for both cleaning and distribution of the tea bags .
