Not So Great
Posted Jan 9, 2013
Pros: The koi pond in front of the lobby with a little waterfall. The lady who checked me in was rather nice and everyone seemed fairly friendly
Cons: The stained sheets, no clock radio, my computer motherboard melted due to the heat in the room while I was gone, coffee in room tastes like cardboard.
Location: North of Redding close to Lake Shasta
The hotel maid didn't pick up the tip I left the first day, probably because they did not bring another coffee and creamer/sugar packets that I used up. The white bedding had black stains without anything covering them so quite noticeable when I walked in. The wallpaper in the hallways and public restroom is peeling, which is surprising for what seems like a fairly new hotel. Their breakfast didn't appear to have healthy or wheat free options so I skipped it. I had a view of the Harley Davidson shop and parking lot next door. It seems maybe they make the majority of their money off of people coming to party at the lake.

From Ethiopia to Redding-

Location: Green and quiet
Amazing place to stay after a 14 hour bus/train ride and flight from Ethiopia to get to a conference. I met people in the breakfast area who were attending the same conference and we became friends. So make sure you have breakfast here.

not a 4 star hotel
Posted Jan 2, 2013
Upon check-in the person working at the front desk was not friendly at all. the elevator and hallways were dirty, tile floor dirty, then we pulled down the sheets and there was a big stain on the sheets. I took a picture it was so bad, I'm in the process of moving so if I can come back to this review and post the pic I will. since the personal check-in clerk was so unfriendly and we checked in at night so she appeared to be the only one on staff we were not comfortable to even complain. this hotel was rated 4 stars so were were terribly disappointed. it was rated completely wrong, we would not have stayed here if it was rated appropriately.

My biggest complaint about this hotel, is the cleanliness of the breakfast area. The gentleman running the front desk, was also the one restocking food items. There was NOBODY cleaning the area. There was dried syrup all over one of the tables, crumbs everywhere and the waffle station had dried batter all around it. I also think they should have more of a variety of creamers and sweeteners for the coffee.

Most discussing hotel I've ever stayed in
Posted Jan 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Every bed sheet had very large blood stains, every towel had old stains including fresh make up stains. Headboard was falling of the wall, literally. Headboards had head banging marks and chips. After reading the other reviews and checking for bed bugs we all slept fully clothed. Please don't stay here!

"Nice, clean room, bad breakfast, rude staff "
Posted Jan 26, 2013
This hotel is pretty far from the downtown area, farther north up the freeway. When we arrived, there was a note saying "be back soon", so we had to wait a little while to check in. The room was nice and clean, and good-sized (no complaints there). What we didn't like was there was practically NOTHING out for the breakfast (after they advertise 'hot breakfast' and we weren't at all late), so we ended up leaving without it. Also, when we were leaving, my boyfriend (who is Hispanic) smiled and said "Hi" to the Caucasian maid as we passed her in the hall, and she gave him a dirty look, did not respond, and then proceeded to smile and politely offer help to a Caucasian family that was looking for the elevator. So, ended up leaving hungry and a little hurt...

The front desk staff and housekeeping are wonderful! But we had a problem with the hotel spa and it seemed like the person who was going to "help" us with the problem was just not interested in coming to look at why it wasn't working. That was disappointing bec one of the main reasons we chose this hotel was its indoor pool and spa. The breakfast is very nice and rooms comfortable.
