Pros: the rate was inexpensive.
Cons: The quality of the pool water and hot tub could be improved.
We stay only one night as we were going through from Calgary to Winnipeg. The pool area wasvery noisy but more importantly, the hot tub was very dirty. our daughters, hearty pool goers and hot tubbers refused to get into the water. Shame... The room was clean, but the elevator was very slow. As we were only on the second floor, it was easier to take the stairs. The staff was however pleasant and hardworking.

Basic needs met.Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: Clean, convenient location, friendly staff
Cons: Older building, is what it is Thermostat in room made temperature difficult to control--perhaps upgrade to more modern thermostat?
Well maintained older hotel in good location. Easy to locate on Victoria avenue. Attached Zahir's lounge is safe, clean with good service. Close to numerous restaurants. I was staying on my own in a queen bed room. Room was a bit on the small side. Room was clean. Mini fridge was a bit noisy and electrical--multiplug for coffee maker, TV, fridge were all on one. Pool area was a bit small and not used by guests much. For an overnight stay in a safe and convenient area, this hotel will do.

Would not recommend to stay herePosted Mar 10, 2014
Mattress worn out. Had to turn the toilet water off - ran all night & kept us up. Thin hard pillows had to ask for extra pillows & towels every day - they kept taking them when the room was cleaned. Towels like sand paper. Stayed here previously - room then was nice. I'm guessing they put us in a horrible room because we booked online at discounted rate.

Dear Katrina, Thanks for taking time to write online review. I am so sorry that your stay with us was less than satisfactory. It appears that we definitely failed when it comes to housekeeping. My staff and I reviewed each of your comments and have taken appropriate action to resolve each issue in the room you occupied. Again, we are terribly sorry that your experience with Chateau Regina was not a good one, but invite you to give us another try. We greatly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us to improve and provide a better experience

Like an aging Hollywood Starlet....Posted Mar 6, 2014
The Chateau Regina is one of those hotels that reminds me photographs of aging Hollywood Actresses. With the right make-up, hair, dress, and lighting they look gorgeous. They aren't really younger though, they've just cleverly covered up any signs. The owners have done a fantastic job of applying paint and renovations to the old girl to make her look modern, warm and inviting. The common areas are nice and the rooms nicely decorated. It's only when you look below the surface you see the age spots. Old plumbing means ok but not great showers. The windows are ancient and need replacing, and the heating cooling system is out of the 80's. This is not meant to be negative though, they offer reasonable rates and in my opinion offer good value for dollar. There is a Smitty's restaurant and a lounge attached to the hotel, as well as a passable business centre. These are nice and convenient amenities to have. I didn't see the gym facilities so can't comment (obviously food and drink are bigger priorities than exercise). It is well educated on the east end of Regina's downtown core and it is a short drive or taxi to restaurants, pubs and shopping. I plan to stay again because I believe it was good value. If you expect 5 star you'll be disappointed. If you expect 3 star you'll be satisfied.
