“Terrible customer service, over-priced (particularly for off-season)”
We were all there for an off-season marathon. Would have thought hotel would be happy to have guests this time of year. Customer service at front desk was terrible - all over us about how we were going to have to pay for an extra day if we were even a minute late checking out (which required us to hussle back after a tough marathon and leave the hotel with wet hair since we didn't even have time for blow drying). Hotel room was filthy, walked around with my shoes on so I wouldn't have exposed body part touch floor, upholstery was disgusting. Only positive was that it was close to race start line.
“Not impressed”
Beds and pillows have not been updated since the 80's very short beds and very soft mattresss, short pillows too . This place is no Marriott
“Not Impressed”
First let me start by saying that there was a big black stain on the rug in between the two beds. In addition there was mildew all round the tub as well as on the shower head. If that wasnt bad enough one of the beds had a huge depression in it that when you went to lay down you felt like you fell in a hole. I reported this to the front desk and my answer from his was "thank you for telling us".
“the worse hotel I have ever stayed in”
This hotel was the worst! The bathroom wasn't clean, and the carpet was so dirty that I was scared to take my shoes off . The bed felt like I was sleeping on the floor and on top of all of this they lied and said they had a spa and bar ....well they didn't have any of those things. Don't stay here!
“Was off season and still good”
One issue the fire escape map did not show any route out from our floor. Did not have the "red dot" on the map for our room. This needs to be fixed ASAP. The staff was good. This was off season and I would have liked some real, not in room, coffee in the lobby. The free internet was fast and good. I would come back.
“Not Too Shabby In The Off Season”
The Sands was over all relatively nice, for the off season. Our ocean view was just that, clear and unobstructed but not ocean front. I loved and was surprised to have a balcony! The staff was so friendly and accommodating and the greeter was very quick to offer assistance and direction. The room was clean, with one stain on the carpet and a mark on the wall. The furniture was a little beaten up around the edges but still acceptable. My main complaint was the bedding. The vellux blankets had some very noticeable holes. The pillows were also impossibly small but firm. The mattresses were also very soft and great for bouncing but not sleeping. The bathroom was far from luxurious. It was small but did the job. The towels are typical, rough, hotel towels. The bathroom was clean and well kept aside from the bath tub. The bottom edge of the tub surround had a lovely ring of mold. It might have gone unnoticed if I hadn't been bathing my children. As previously stated, the walls are thin but so are most hotels. I don't expect all sound to be stopped. However I was slightly annoyed that I could hear the music from one of the event being hosted in the hotel till late in the evening. Knowing that there are party rooms on every floor is a little off putting. I think the off season prices are very reasonable, however the on season rates are exaggerated, even with the balcony, ocean view, and boardwalk . The staff does take care of their clients and the cleaning staff does well.
“watched the sunrise over the beach”
Bed was too soft but otherwise the room was fine. Nice to watch the sun come up over the ocean from our balcony. Employees seemed a little confused but were responsive.
“Convenient but not cleanest”
I wanted to stay at this hotel for years. It's definitely worth it for the location because it is right in the middle of all of the beach attractions but not the cleanest place. Would recommend for a place to crash for a night or two but not a week long vacation.
“Ideal Location”
Perfect location in Rehoboth, right on the boardwalk; once we parked in the hotel's lot we never needed the car again because everything is in walking distance. The rooms are fairly typical but clean with updated decor. At check-in the room was not ready (we were very early) but the clerk took my cell # & we were called as soon as it was available. Desk clerk very helpful with giving us all the extra coffee we required in the morning for the in-room coffee maker. The shower only ran really hot or cold; it was difficult to get it comfortably warm. Overall a terrific dollar value & great hotel.
“Strictly for convenience of pool & beach”
Nothing glamarous about this place. The whole appeal of this hotel is it's location on the boardwalk. It is beachfront with a pool. You have the convenience of lounging on the beach then dipping in the pool. The interior of the hotel is no big deal. We had a room with a view of the beach. However the trade off is that we were literally tripping over each other inside the room. We were a family of 4 with two full size beds. If someone was sitting at the desk area you had to climb over the bed to get to the balcony. The hotel needs updating. I did not eat at the breakfast buffet but friends of ours did and really enjoyed it. If I went to Rehoboth again I would try another hotel but if I couldn't find another one I would stay here again.
