Good friendly hotel very close to the beach

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: The hall carpeting needs refreshing--makes it seem more dingy than it really is in the rooms.
Cons: The TV sets were pretty small--we had to squeeze around them to watch a baseball game so we could see the ball!
Location: Right on the N end of the Boardwalk--everything is nearby.
The Henlopen has a great location, friendly staff, great first level parking, and a terrific complimentary breakfast. The elevators are fast and it's very easy to get from the beach to your room quickly. That's perfect for a family with little kids when there is always something else you need. It's not fancy or recently remodeled but very liveable.

Great location, but needs a lot of work

Posted Jul 11, 2014
The staff of this beach hotel was very friendly, but the decor and ambiance is in desperate need of a significant makeover. Big minus is that the pool on premises is reserved for the adjacent condos and with the infestation of aggressive sand sharks off the coast, there are not a lot of opportunities to swim.

Nice hotel on the beach

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The service and availability to park and use the changing rooms.
Cons: a little bit old, could be updated.
Location: perfect location on the beach, walked to restaurants and bars
My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice this summer. First was memorial weekend and this past time was sunday-monday during the busy 4th of july weekend. We were very pleased both times. A hotel ON the beach! We arrived early both tmes and were allowed to park the car and hop on the beach while I our room was being prepared. The staff called to let us know it was available. The rooms had a great view-505 and 414. We loved 414 because it was only 2 rooms away from direct beachfront room. The staff was very accommodating when we asked for a King bed. The checkout was very smooth and we were also allowed to leave the car for a few extra hours to go back on the beach. When we returned, although we had checked out, they let us use their showers and changing room. So the ride back home was clean and comfortable.

Love the king size bed. Plenty of towels, hot water, all the things that matter. Every thing worked. Older stuff but working. Continental breakfast came in handy.

Nice Hotel for a couple of friends to get away.

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: All modern and good elevators.
Cons: Door locks.
Location: Right on the boardwalk, at the very end. Beautiful swimming beach and everything in a few blocks, arcades, bumper cars.
Hotel at the end of the boardwalk. Nice view of ocean and great cross ventilation.

Good location on the boardwalk and beach

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Location, staff.
Cons: Everything looks and feels old. It can use a makeover in just about every regard.
Location: Because it's at the end of the boardwalk it's quieter than in a more central location. Restaurants and town not far away. Lovely neighborhoods nearby.
I do recommend this hotel because it's on the water, at the very end of the boardwalk. There is still plenty of foot traffic but not nearly as busy as just a few hotels down the beach. There is no street traffic to speak of. The hotel is dated and many of the rooms have less than desirable views of the water, if any. Parking is challenging as there aren't enough spaces for guests. The complimentary breakfast available is pretty standard, but the food was always fresh and the room was kept clean and orderly. The maid service was good. We didn't go to Rehoboth Beach to stay in our room, so for the purpose intended the room was okay. We also chose the Henlopen Hotel because the rates were better than several others we looked into when we booked last February.

The only hotel I'll stay at in Rehoboth Beach

Posted Jun 25, 2014
I adore Laura at the front desk, she is so professional and had the most calming voice. She makes sure our stay is comfortable. I'll never stay anywhere else. I have been going to Henlopen Hotel for years now and my parents as well.

Excellent staff and excellent location!

Posted Jun 22, 2014
This hotel is located just by the beach. It is relatively less crowded than the beaches of the other hotels. Staff was excellent and the room was so clean. Even though this hotel is a bit dated, the service completely compensates for this aspect. We were completely satisfied during our stay for 5 days!
