Relaxing

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Amenities within the hotel facility and most of all the outdoor scenery.
Cons: Need to change out the old torn up carpet throughout the hotel hallways. Fix the draining system inside the showers (water backed up to ankle deep).
Location: Hotel next to Cabela's store/Truckee River and not to far from downtown Reno. About 30 mins. away from Lake Tahoe.....great location!
They have the best all you can eat lobster buffet!!!

Nice hotel close to Reno where son and family live

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Food was good in the Bistro Restaurant
Cons: Check in desks closer to North Tower rooms.
Room was far away from main casino entrances in North Tower. I have bad knees and the walking distance on 3rd floor was the only issue.

Okay hotel

The room was very outdated! Carpet very very old, could not open curtains, no comforter on bed. The room shown on Expedia was not even close to what my room was. Very disappointed . I had never used Expedia before and I don't think I will again. The only nice thing about the hotel is I was able to check in early.

Good entertainment, lousy accommodations

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Not much. The concert venue was okay and the actual concert was great. Otherwise the whole casino and hotel was pretty tacky and low rent.
Cons: Just about everything. The North Tower complex looked decent from outside, don't know what the rooms looked like inside.
Location: If you are into outdoor-related gear there is a large Cabela's outlet nearby which is worth visiting. Only reason to take the Boomtown exit.
Primary purpose of visit was to enjoy a concert by Dave Mason, so my wife and I booked a two night stay. The website for Boomtown had photos of nice-looking rooms and prices were reasonable, and reservations through Expedia were quick and easy. Upon arrival on Saturday afternoon the Casino was crowded, parking limited. I checked in and, despite the clerks directions, I had a heck of a time finding an outside entrance close to our room in the South Towers. A lot of "No Entrance" signs and locked doors. After extended walking with luggage, finally found room. It was cheap-looking and minimally furnished, and had a stale Chinese restaurant odor to it. The window opening to an interior enclosed court with an empty (dry) swimming pool was cracked open, no screen. My wife objected to the room so we contacted the front desk. To their credit they immediately changed our room. Same decor, slightly better smell. We canceled the second night reservation.

We we're disappointed with the hotel...

We got a different room than paid for, it was old, dated, no coffee pot in room and house keeping was knocking on everyones room doors at 8am. We would not recommend.

Boomtown hotel

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Bedding, and shower, and put brochures in room, for room service if any, or for up coming events if any, and a phone book,
Location: I dont know , stayed in room, and there wasn't any brochures for info on things to do, we ate at restaurant across town.
Very disappointing, I was disappointed how the bed was made ,iit didn't even have a fitted sheet on it , one top sheet , and no comforter, and stains on mattress, and no comforter, The shower was terrible, hard to control.
