Downtown location was great. Hotel felt "tired".

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Price, bonus items for booking thru internet.
Fires in ca turned Reno into a smokey town. You could smell smoke in the hotel. We left early due to asthma attacks. Casino workers unsure about promotions on the floor. Music and bells very loud.

What a wonderful Surprise!

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: The only thing would be for them to maybe put in new showers and get rid of the old tubs but that really is not a problem.
Location: There is everything near by. all of the casinos are within walking distance. shopping and places to eat.

Kids liked it the best

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Service, location,
Cons: Circus circus had freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at check in.
We went to Reno for a short overnight trip while my husband went to the Reno Air Races. Our daughter and her friend (12yrs) weren't too interested in the races so I took them along with my 2 year old to check out the casino hotels in downtown Reno. They liked Circus Circus but when they found out there was no pool they axed that one, we went to Silver Legacy and The El Dorado to look at their pools. While both were very small, the one at El Dorado was nicer and deeper and stayed open longer. It was still connected to Circus Circus so we could easily walk over for games and circus shows. Our room on the 17 floor was very nice and the front desk service was great.

ok for the price, good food friendly staff.

Pros: Expedia
Cons: Facility modernization, and to be sure it would be a big job.
Location: Right in the heart of downtown. Only things to do; hit the other hotel casinos and shop the pawn shops. Otherwise you must have a car and travel.
Rooms are small and a shower was designed for shorter people, but for the price it was ok. The food was good and price reasonable. Not sure whats up with all the guards, don't know if they have lots of problems or are just trying to make sure they don't have problems, but rest assured they are ready if there is an incident as the security staff were very visible and there were a lot of them. For Reno, it seems like one of the better down town hotels. Compared to other locations it was only an OK for the price option. If you really want to be in the center of town, its probably one of the better choices, otherwise stay out a bit farther and look for something more updated.

Eldorado and Silver Legacy are the best in Reno

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Lots of food options and big casino floor with tons of stuff to do -- good dealers, stickmen, cocktail people all over.
Location: Best casino neighborhood in reno. West st has non-casino bars and food. lake st has a great bar to sightsee hot girls.
Came in for concert at the Legacy, next door and connected to Eldorado. Good hotel and good casino and sports book/lounges here and next door. Pool is not great, but there is one.

I will not stay at this Hotel (Eldorado) again.

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Sportsbook & Restaurants
Cons: Everything
Location: Pretty much stayed at the Eldorado
I booked a non smoking King Room, they tried to put me in a 2 Queens (I was staying by myself) smoking room. When I said it was a King and Non Smoking, they said we can do a King but we are sold out of the Non Smoking. Bed squeaked every time you moved.

Pros: Its a very nice place and they have great restaurants and bars.
Cons: Its fine
Location: Location is downtown. The downtown area is getting run down. Too many street people. Lots to do nearby. Ski, golf, or any other outdoor activities

best bang for your buck for luxury

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: almost everything it had to offer
Cons: better directions markers to street exits and interior casino amenities
Location: Very close to 4 or 5 other major casinos. The river walk is close by and a short walk to the National Auto Museum. You never have to drive your car
A great hotel with very comfortable rooms. Lots of restaurants and eateries for food choices. The Buffet was delicious with a great spread of good quality food. The casino floor, lobby and gaming area was very impressive and modern. Also a plus is the location of the hotel: center of town with other casinos and attractions within a short walking distance. Well worth the money and a definite choice to stay here again. Not to forget that Carson and Virginia City and the spectacular Lake Tahoe are all within a 30 to 60 minute drive.
