Business trip, needing comfort and quiet

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: Large rooms, decor was nice, wish the weather was better to enjoy the hot tub in the evening
Cons: Better training for front desk staff
Location: 45 miles from our location in Cal. We travel to Reno twice a month, might or might not stay again
Overall, positive experience. Stayed two nights as we own a business just over the state line in Cal. Thursday evening was quiet and good night sleep. Friday evening was lots of noise in halls all hours of the night. Check out on Sat was less than perfect. Clerk told me my card was declined upon arrival, asked for a decline code and she retracred and told me it was never charged. Poor CS training on behalf of Front desk Manager. Card was fine, thus my curosity. No apology for the mis communication. Small issue, but important for hotel to correct.

Good family hotel

There is so much to do you cant stay just one night. My teenager and 6 yr old niece were occupied for hours. The casino is large, many many options for food and the buffet was one of the best prices around. Only negative is the GSR rooms aren't nearly as nice as the other tower. They really need to update them some more.

Beautiful facility needing updates

Pros: The cleanliness and amenities.
Cons: The casino did not keep you playing and the cocktail service was virtually non-existant.
Location: Currently, the major freeway access going south bound has no exit for miles around the hotel due to repair work that will be going on fumtil late fall
Our room was attractive and very clean but the bed skirt was warn and the HVAC did not cool the room below 75. The restaurants are pricier than the typical Reno hotel properties but the service and quality were far better than other Reno properties. Charlie Palmer Steak House was the best.. The casino was a total rip!!

One-night business stay. Clean room, spacious bed, lot's of food choices and well-stocked convenience/gift shop. I was unhappy with the accommodations and location of the first room, and they gave me a different room quickly. Staff was pleasant. I would stay there again.

Pros: loved the concierge floor
Generally I was concerned as the casino is smoky when you walk in. I was fortunate to be upgraded to the concierge floor which was lovely and flawless. A wonderful experience.
