Overall I had a nice stay. You can definitely tell the difference between regular rooms and the "next step up". Also, the beds were amazingly comfortable. I slept sooooo good. Thanx

Overnighter in Reno at the Grand Sierra

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The room was very quiet and comfortable even though the hotel was at the north end of the Reno Tahoe airport.
Cons: Upfront disclosure of all costs when the room is booked and a forewarning of the distance you will have to carry you luggage to get to your room.
Location: We didn't leave the room after we checked in.
We booked a room for the night on our trip to Southern Nevada to visit family. We had not previously stayed at this resort but at the Atlantis last year, so we thought we would try out a new place to stay. I was disappointed when I arrived, to find out that the fee for the room did not include tax or a "resort fee" that was tacked onto the price of the room. When I had reserved the room I did not anticipate the additional charges that raised the rate of the room close to $20.00 dollars more! After checking in at the desk we then had to carry all of our luggage past the Casino and then walk the entire length of the hotel wing to get to our room which was the very last room on the end of the hall by the fire escape!! I would have put on my hiking boots and packed a backpack had I known I was in for a hike across the entire length of the hotel from the guest parking lot.

A mediocre experience

Posted Apr 18, 2014
The room was marginal: poor lighting, sparse decor, lumpy bed, and cheesy towels. We will not be staying there again.

Anniversary getaway

Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: All the on site amenities.
Cons: Jacuzzi should be available during spring season.
Location: Too many to list, it is Reno.
Check in was fast and easy. We were a little disappointed that our King bed (booked 4 weeks in advance) was unavailable. But we can live with a queen size. Four days before our stay I called to confirm everything and was told pool was closed but jacuzzi was open, however upon arrival it was not. We planned to bowl next evening (Tuesday) and take advantage of low price deals, when we arrived we were told food concession was closed. It was 10pm and it was supposed to stay open til midnight. Rooms were very clean. House keeping staff was very helpful.

Great food, excellent service, and slots payed off

Cons: The pool could have been open...
Location: Walmart is right across the street, in case you lost all your money gambling and want to purchase things cheaper.
Had to switch rooms because of an un-wanted quest and I was moved quickly and even escorted to my new room. Safety first for the GSN :)

Great hotel for a great price!

Pros: Beautiful decor, everything you need in one spot, great views from room, friendly staff, I'd definitely stay here again.
Cons: Pool area is currently under construction while we were there but I'm sure it'll be awesome when finished.
Location: Easy access to the interstate to head to Sparks, Tahoe, or wherever.
This place is awesome! Top notch decor and amenities all around. They've definitely been putting a lot of money into upgrading this hotel/casino recently and it shows. The restaurants and bars are gorgeous, plus we got a free upgrade to a Summit room which was very chic. The only possible thing I could knock it for is the parking but with free valet I really can't complain.

Not pet friendly!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
There pet policy was very confusing, had to pay penalty for not registering my dog, even though I had registered my dog! They downgraded my non smoking suite to a smoking one bed room-that smelled horrible! ( because there were no dogs allowed in the non smoking suite, or the 27th floor) All of my baby's food & milk got spoiled because the downgraded did not have a fridge! The worst experience ever!
