Full amenities

This hotel has everything you could think of in terms of kid activities. The rooms and structures are a little inundated. The casino is nothing to phone home about, as there are very limited games (e.g., only play one version of Texas Hold'Em). The night club looks great. Not located in the strip area, which is a little inconvenient.

GSR definitely felt like a few notches above your run of the mill hotels on the strip.

Nice family friendly hotel

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Family friendly, lots of activities for kids and adults who are not into gambling.
Cons: Air quality in non smoking areas and rooms
Location: Location was great, near the Sparks outlet, Patagonia Outlet, Walmart, etc.
The hotel is far better than ones on the strip of Reno. This is a family oriented hotel with lots of activities for kids like bowling, swimming, arcade, etc. Good overall except for the cigarette smell in the designated non smoking areas in the casino and the supposedly non smoking rooms in the Summit. I complained about the cigarette smell in our room and the housekeeping staff was more than happy to help, they offered to spray both the summit rooms we booked with deodorizer and also offered to place an air purifier in one of the rooms. Since they only had one left, I had it placed in our room since we had a toddler with us.

My room on the top floor was sold before I got there so they moved me to the ninth floor with my children, baron mind I had already paid for this room. They denied access to my service dog on the upper floors they also told us there was a continental breakfast that came with our upper floor rooms but my children were denied due to the fact there was a lounge alcohol on that floor, and we spent around $1000 over the weekend in the hotel and did not feel we were treated accordingly.

Cons: Fix the toilet so we don't have to hold down the handle to flush, replace the blown out bulbs in the bathroom. New decorator!!!

Good Place for Families-lots of kids stuff

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: I liked that there were lots of things to do for the kids....
Cons: mini fridge in the room
I was disappointed to learn that the hotel charged us a $16 a day resort fee on top of what we paid to Expedia for the room-that should have been explained in the cost of the room-doesn't seem like such a deal when you get there and have to pay additional resort fees to the hotel....There was no mini fridge in the room which we are accustomed to and usually find convenient. It was nice to have 2 free bottles of water in our room everyday and free Wi-Fi-although it never worked with my PC or phone while I was there....my kids were able to get their Galaxy's to work...my stuff worked fine outside the hotel....One night when we were at the pool, my 14 and 11 years olds went with me to the hot tub (it was around 6PM). We were just sitting there and there were other younger kids in the hot tub playing around. A hotel worker came around and asked all kids under 18 to leave, as the rule was you could use the hot tub under 18 accompanied by a parent until after 6 PM-then only over 18 allowed. As soon as we got out and he was out of sight, many young children were back in, playing, not just sitting, and he never came back to enforce the rule again...all we wanted to do was sit quietly and enjoy the hot tub and not disturb the other adults, now there were kids playing and jumping and many were just toddlers, and nothing was done. It was disappointing.....

Wish we had more time to spend here!

I was traveling with a horse trailer, and needed a hotel with plenty of parking. This hotel is it. Not only was there abundant parking, but check-in was quick and easy. We are at the Japanese restaurant which was great. There were multiple restaurants open after 9 since we arrived late. Room was clean and quiet.
