Pros: UMMMM NOTHING
Cons: QUIET ROOMS WOULD BE NICE
OUR ROOM ON THE 39TH FLOOR WAS VERY NICE , WHEN WE WENT TO BED THAT ALL CHANGED IT SOUNDED LIKE CABLES OF SOME SORT WHERE IN THE WALLS AND ABOVE US BEING PULLED, THEY WOULD CLANG AND THEY SOUNDED LIKE ELEVATOR CHAINS AND BELLS.. SO WE BASICALLY WENT WITHOUT SLEEP ALL NITE, AND WOULD HAVE CHANGED ROOMS IF NOT FOR OUR EARLY DEPARTURE THE NEXT MORNING. I WILL NOT STAY AGAIN WE ALSO FELT THE STEAKHOUSE HAD AN AIR ABOUT THEM, VERY SNOTTY AND JUST NOT FRIENDLY.

Pros: The steakhouse
Cons: Fan in the bathroom.
Location: Everything we wanted was right there
Wish there was a person dedicated to help find shows etc instead of just a computer wi hch was of very little. Ticketmaster was closed the day we wanted to book a show and we were gone the next day.

Pros: The room was comfortable and there was a nice, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Hotel store is outrageously expensive though, especially since there are several moderately priced convenience stores adjacent.
Location: Walk to ball park, riverwalk, night life, shopping. Great location!
Great time. Good, friendly, courteous, smiling staff.

Cons: Overall it didn't seem very clean, especially in the elevators and main area carpets.
We stayed one night. The room seemed to be clean, but the common areas seemed rather dirty. The price was really good for a mid-week stay, so I guess a lot can be overlooked.

Quick overnight in Reno

Posted Apr 15, 2014
The non-smoking floor was odor-free, and rooms were not filled with extra towels to waste, unless you requested more.(eco-friendly.) The TV reception was terrible for many free local and cable channels (except Fox - how odd...) and there were no good premium channels (e.g. at least one HBO channel would be nice.) The Internet speed and security was not impressive. The downtown location is closed to the re-gentrified section on the Truckee River,

Horrible. The second room they moved us to has dog hair on the bed and dog pee on the floor.

Harrahs in Reno

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: shuttle to/from the airport
Cons: updating
Location: enjoyed Reno and rented a car to drive around Lake Tahoe. Very beautiful.
The hotel definitely needs updating. The number of electric outlets in the room was inadequate. The bedding (mattress) was old, but not totally uncomfortable. The elevators showed many signs of wear. We saw a video of the humble beginnings of Mr. Harrah who was very specific in his ideas as to how his guests should be taken care of. We didn't feel the current staff has had the same type of training he initiated all those years ago.

Poor hotel policy on confirmed reservations.

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Convenient location to our attendance to the Reno Aces ballpark.
Cons: Hotel accomodation for confirmed reservations.
Location: Two blocks from Reno Aces ballpark.
We arrived at the hotel before checkin and the hotel advised us that our booking of a non-smoking king room could not be filled because they were already over booked and we could pay a $50 upgrade to have a room with a single bed or we would have to make due with a double twin bed room, unless we wanted to have a smoking king room. I feel that if the hotel can not supply the room reservation as confirmed, through no fault of ours, they should offer the upgrade free to provide a similar king bed room, not make us sleep seperately. I will not stay at this hotel again and I am not satisfied with Expedia's reservation standards.

You get what you pay for.

Pros: Chorizo Hash!
Cons: See above.
Location: Silver Legacy and El Dorado were in much better shape and their gambling areas were packed.
Harrah's in Reno is definitely on the decline and they need the low price to bring visitors in. Staff was nice but you have to walk thru one of two entire gambling areas to get to the elevators. Hardly anyone was gambling in the east tower. The walking areas were in poor condition, especially the hallway from the elevators to the rooms. On my floor, the 11th, the ice machine had leaked (the remedy was to put a hand towel in the leak path) and the carpet was water stained. The room was in better condition but the toilet bowl had not been flushed after the cleaner was applied so there was dried foam inside the bowl during my whole stay. TV channels were limited, internet ($10.95 per 24 hrs) was spotty. The one bright spot was the Chorizo hash at Hash A Go Go.
