Nice hotel

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Everything was gone for our stay. But the bed was super uncomfortable and the pillows had no cushion and no support.

Old and Needing Update

Posted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Not much. Casino was extremely smokey.
Cons: Remodeling would help a lot.
Crapets were very worn. Front desk staff was generally helpful. Valet parking personnel were pleasant but overworked. Often no one was working in the booth where one must turn in their ticket to retrieve their car. I've never stayed in a hotel that charged for the coffee in the room before. There was a small sign near the coffee maker advising it cost $1.50 a cup for room coffee. They talked us into buying a rewards card stating the buffet dinner would be $20 cheaper with a $2 rewards card. When we went to the buffet they said that offer was only good the previous evening. I don't plan to stay at this hotel again.

Probably can find equal or better hotel for less

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: The location is good, downtown, easy access to various casinos.
Cons: Smokiness of the casino floor is a real turn off for me.
Room was dated. Door looked as if someone had tried to pry it open in the past. Hallways heavily scuffed up- looked like it had been years since it was painted. Lastly, I was really turned off by seeing a charge of $1.50 per cup to use the in-room coffee maker.

Horrible staff with bad attitude

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Reserved a king non smoking room and at check in was told only had 2 full size beds and when I informed her we reserved through Expedia she put us in a room close to ice maker and elevator with no view. This was not the way I envisioned spending my birthday

Nice and clean. Close to the train station. Steak

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Room was clean and modernized. Next to Amtrak and the steak restaurant is old school but the best! Took advantage of midweek bargains.

Outdated casino hotel !

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Dinner buffet is all time easy pick for the selection.
Cons: In room carpets and amenities needs major upgrades.
Location: Mt. Rose ski resort is within reach.
Great downtown location only stayed for 2 nights to ski on Mt. Rose. Short trip is good for family after a long day of fun time. Don't have to think about parking and restaurant. Room rate just right for the age of the hotel. Weekdays buy one get one free dinner buffet coupon is a deal.

The Biggest Little Town

Posted Jan 10, 2015
Pros: It is in the center of town and you can hop, skip, and jump from hotel to hotel.
Cons: Needs free wifi in the room.
This Harrah's isn't the same experience as it's Las Vegas big brother but it provides everything you need for a stay in the Biggest Little Town in the World...assuming you are just looking for a place to stay without the frills of a party life. We came to go skiing and so it was adequate for this purpose. You can walk to all the downtown hotels and enjoy those environs including Circus Circus for the kids. If you are looking for a party, you may want to check out one of the other more updated hotels like GSR. In any case, always ask for the West Tower as it is the remodeled side and costs just a smidge more.

Beware of hidden charges

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Room was clean and cheap for 4 people.
Cons: Should include everything in first charge. No hidden charges.
Location: Good location. 4-5 big casinos nearby and walkable
The hotel was alright. Definitely not 4 star. In the room, they had charge on water, coffee etc. Also in the bill they added 50$ extra charge for resort facility. We did not use any of their resort facility.

Very pricy - pay attention to all the extra charge

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Very pricey, pay attention to all the extra charges they have especially if traveling with pets - they charge extra $60 plus cleaning fees and $25 resort fee - for the room your getting it's no different to stay at the other hotels downtown that are not so pricey! Look online too, you get a better discount online with Harrahs whereas some of the hotels downtown it's just better to show up and don't pay online fees!
