We were on a second floor room!

Posted Jan 20, 2015
It was very very hot. We turned on the air condition, but could not turn it on all night because it was loud. Then we realized that walls and floor were very hot. It should have a heating system from walls but it was very excessive. There was ice outside. Other than that, the hotel was pleasing. It was really wierd. Pool was good but pool floors could be cleaner.

New Years GetAway

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Cons: Fix the pancake machine
Location: Across the freeway from the Grand Sierra Resort that has family activities.
Arrived with family Dec 30,2014. Snow was outside so grandkids were able to play in the snow. Hotel indoor pool was great. Breakfast was above average with the exception of the pancake machine being broken. Overall a wonderful stay without all the noise and crowds of the casino hotels. Will definitely consider staying again.

Please add blackout curtains

Posted Jan 4, 2015
We stayed here for a ski trip. The location is pretty good with easy access to highway and far away from noisy downtown. Kids love the indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast is convenient. The only complain I have is the lack of blackout curtain. It makes impossie to sleep late in the morning. Even in the night, the light from outdoor is very annoying for a light sleeper like me.

Pros: friendly staff, good breakfast, reasonable pricing and excellent customer service
Location: Location is okay, but not when you really want to spend more time in Downtown Reno
Excellent customer service as they granted our all our request, from staying on the top floor, to having a connecting room!

Clean, comfortable, very nice breakfast.

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable, affordable rates.
Cons: Add curtains!!
Location: Close to the Reno airport, but off the strip, easy to avoid the casinos if one chooses
Comfortable beds, but had difficulty sleeping due to lack of room darkening curtains. The room was lit up by outside security lights with no way to block from inside. The only curtains were white sheers that allowed privacy without blocking light. Every other detail was perfect. Loved the hot chocolate chip cookies at check-in!!

I found that the overall experience we had at the holiday inn express reno was reasonable. The cleanliness and preparation of the hotel was well above average with exemplary house keeping and facilities. The facilities available were up there with more expensive and luxurious hotels found in major cities throughout the world. The availability of in house breakfast was of particular interest with the availability of a wide variety of foods and beverages which eliminated the need for travel to a third party destination to start ones day. The provision of a pool and communal spa was also comfortable. During our stay I was most impressed and delighted by the tenacity and attention to detail which the house keeping staff displayed to maintain a clean and hygienic surface to all areas of the hotel at all times. Unfortunately one episode of considerable note did cast a remarkable shadow on our stay. We noticed that the toilet was blocked when we arrived. This does occur even in the best of establishments and is neither predictable or of major concern. After alerting the concierge I was surprised and disgusted that the hotel's solution was to present me with a plunger to unblock the toilet.
