Great price for such a nice place

Ended up staying two days when only planned to stay one. Very accomodating staff and nice place. May be a little dated but I was there just as they started a major renovation.

YES!!!

Pros: Large, comfortable room.
Cons: HATE the wallpaper in the rooms . . .
Location: Not adjacent to nearby amenities and not crazy about the train yard next door, but rooms were well insulated and didn't get much noise.
Good restaurants, fun casino, friendly staff. Very nice place!!!

JA Nugget.

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: staff. beds were comfy. We were given our choice of high in the tower, were not put at the end of a long hall, but not next to the elevators either.
Cons: Bathroom, TV, Rosie's café.
Location: we come from central Nevada to shop about every 6 weeks for 3-4 days.
We had stayed here almost exclusively until about a year ago, then switched to the Peppermill for comfort and to treat ourselves. We responded to JA Nugget invitation to return, after the sale of the casino. The staff is always great, and now the rooms are being upgraded, as they were getting pretty dated. The rooms can still be "slicked" up a little more. The casino was fun and we even won. The food at Rosie's is still average, but the staff is always friendly. The buffet was very good. The mid-week room rates are great, equally a great value. We will be staying more often in the future.

March stay at newer tower at Nugget

Excellent service all-around. I didn't need advice about activities in the area because my In-laws live in Reno. Very comfortable stay for my wife and I !

Great amenities.

Cons: The amount of smoke.
I recently spent a few days with teenagers at the Nugget. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of things to do for kids. It was smoky on the main floor, but the pool and other kid areas were great. The room was large and suited our needs fine. The beds are firm, but that is the way we like them.

What a Pleasant Holiday!

Pros: The buffet and Rosie's cafe.
Cons: A low calorie offering at Rosie's.
Location: Bus terminal to Reno nearby, the movie theater and the Victorian Plaza which has a variety of activities scheduled. The museum is nearby.
The staff are all pleasant and accomodating. The room was kept very clean and amenities left each day. We love the pool, hot tub and exercise room.

Getting dated

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Took advantage of $25 p/night offer. Last stayed here in 1999. Rooms are dyed, no flat screens. Beds comf enough. Still renovating to open Gilleys dance hall. Old time coin slots corner, quarters and dollars. Too many children in indoor pool, but was end of one of he spring breaks. Would stay again at similar price offer.
