My one night stay at the nugget

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and my room was quiet.
I had a very late check in, nearly midnight. I was glad I didn't have to worry about losing the room if I didn't get in by 6 or 8 pm. Check in was quick and easy. Valet parked the car for no extra charge. The room was neat and clean, very comfortable. Check out the next morning was very early as I had to be on the road. It was fast and easy. In house Starbucks was very convenient and I was back on the road in no time.

The Hotel is great. The pool is indoors and perfect for kids, not so much for adults as it was over run the unattended children on the weekend. By Sunday afternoon we actually had a chance to use the pool and hot tub. It is really nice.

Older casino hotel that is fading

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: Reasonable prices and having restaurants in the same building.
Cons: The staff looked grumpy and tired. The bars and restaurants can have better food and service. I hate cigarette smoke, so make the place smoke-free.
Location: Walk to the Great Basin Brewing Co. for food and the best IPA (Icky IPA) around. They brew it there. There are other restaruants nearby.
The free shuttle picked me up from the airport on time. I waited 40 minutes to check in as did many of my friends and colleaques who checked in at different times. Everything about the hotel is dated, but you can see glimpse of its former glory everywhere. The staff looked like they all stayed up to gamble all night. The restaurants weren't that great (I tried three of them). Even the Starbucks was really inefficient and slow. The steakhouse had short hours and the steaks not that good. The oyster bar really didn't have fresh oysters (and no oysters Rockeffeller). The hair saloon and spa was closed. The wi-fi was free and relatively fast and the beer was cheap.

Large Party Stay

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness and friendliness.
Cons: Plumbing was an issue with one room.
Location: Close to the freeway to Reno. Plenty of nearby sites to see.
We had a total of seven people in our party. We stayed in 4 rooms and were helped with the front desk to get a "pod" of rooms. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was a great experience.

Nice hotel. Too many dogs. Ridiculous TV

Posted May 19, 2015
Cons: New TVs!
The ancient tube TV had a smaller screen than a computer monitor! Ridiculous!

Great place to stay and play!

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Friendly Staff
Cons: Outside of the hotel could be improved upon.
Location: Shopping, hiking, biking, entertainment....
We were greeted by friendly staff when we arrived. The over all condition of the hotel has improved over the last couple years. Gaming is fun and the restaurants on site are very good!

Upgrade to a petite suite for 25 extra dollars

Posted May 17, 2015
Had a good stay for two days. I had a friend that unexpected came with us and I had a one king bed. When we got there they were sold out of the rooms with two queens. So the staff upgraded me to a petite suite for 25 extra dollars o accommodate me. It was very spacious and very clean!! Would stay here again
