Cheap but large rooms

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Large room. However, the furniture is not meant to store clothes.
Location: Just off the main strip, but you can walk to the other casinos and the Truckee river.
Clearly an older hotel, but kept up in acceptable condition. Hotel has several restaurants and bars, plus the casino.

Sands

Pros: Service
Location: The location was fine.
The service was excellent. In each part of the building the employees were helpful. I needed a pillow for the road. I was traveling a long distance by train. The front desk clerk had one sent up to my room. Free of charge. I would have gladly paid for it. But it was a very nice gesture.

All needed recreation and amenities were close.

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Price and location.
Cons: Some of the appliances didn't work well.
Location: Lots of restaurants and casinos.
I only stayed for a brief time, but the staff were pleasant, the room was clean and I got a good night's sleep.

Reno Vacation

Pros: Downtown location
The room tended to be cold due to leaking windows. I heard the elevators from my hotel room.

Reno versus Las Vegas

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Affordable - Centrally located - Friendly staff - IN-ROOM wireless, which is non-existant in Las Vegas MGM properties. - Good shower pressure
Cons: Flat Screen TV, update furniture, update carpet, you could tell that it was old.
Location: There are several casino's neaby and I paid a visit to most all of them. There is a path near the river and shopping as well.
I have been to Las Vegas several times. This was my first trip to Reno. Since I drove I also included Lake Tahoe. Beautiful area and worth the visit. The weather was a little chilly so I would preferred to visit later in the year. Overall a good experience.

Love the 3 card/21 table, our room was nice and the free buffet with over 50 points was steel.
