The hotel was beautiful. We had the room with the jacuzzi and steam room. The staff was amazing. Manolis especially was amazing. Highly recommend if your going to Crete. Short walk into the old town.

The staff are wonderful and ready to assist you at all time!! Reception staff Maria and Mariana in the spa and Maria in the breakfast service are loving and caring. in general all the staff are welcoming. You feel at home in this property.

Amazing
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Location, staff, view were all amazing. The only thing about the town Ethymno I would say is that it has a lot to offer but if you want to go to south or some of the other places that are renowned , they are usually on the other side of Chania and since this hotel is itself about one hour away from Chania it makes the trip longer. However the scenary as you drive is amazing so well worth it

Wonderful time of the place. Very nice with beautiful views in the apartments were excellent clean and nice. I would like to thank the staff for excellent service. They were wonderful. Probably visit the place again.

Excellent Hot tub and sauna.
My Wife and I really enjoyed the wellness features of our stay. Large spacious room with 2 private balcony's with a sea view. These were really a strong plus for our stay. Excellent local taverns and eatery's. recommend renting a car to get around the local area. The internet was very spotty to un usable at times. The cable tv was also very poor. The Breakfast was average. not bad but nothing special. Overall the hotel was good value and will stay again if in the area. the staff like all of Greece were pleasant professional and very friendly. I RECONEMEND THE SPA AS WELL VERY NICE FACILITIES!

This was our fourth time staying at the Macaris and every time we have loved it. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the facilities are great, and it's the perfect location for exploring Rethymno without being right in the centre of town.

This property has amazing views and was so relaxing. It’s a little walk to shopping and restaurants in Rethymno but we walked down to the beach area across the street and along the water into town. We really enjoyed our walks and being close to the activity but not too close. The staff was amazing and the breakfast was excellent. The room was perfect, clean and comfortable! We would love to visit again.

The minute my husband and I entered the hotel, we were so happy. The people at the front desk were beyond kind and helpful. They answered any questions we had and were even available to help us call a cab whenever we needed to leave the hotel. Our room was especially amazing. It was so clean, comfortable, convenient in more ways than we were prepared for a hotel room, and quiet. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay at while in Rethymno. We will stay here every time we return!

Amazing hotel in every way
Beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior 1 bed apartment and it is the best room I have ever stayed in on holiday. It was like having your own plush flat with a double balcony, queen size bed, longe and dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Even the balcony furniture was exceptional - relaxing chairs and a separate dining table. All rooms have a sea view which is amazing. Could not fault the staff, their professionalism and politeness. Nothing was too much for them. Fab quiet pool area with great sunbeds and umbrellas - and no reserving of beds. Lovely bar, snack and dinner menu very reasonable. All in all - pretty perfect

Overall pleased with our stay. Hotel is about 10 mins walk to old town of Rethymno. Staff friendly and very helpful. Rooms are spacious and offer great views of the sea. Only wished our bed sheets/pillow cases would have been changed at some point during our 6 day stay. Bathroom shower has small glass door resulting in water getting all over the bathroom floor. Not a deal breaker but must be a better solution.

Macaris Suite and Spa is relatively close to the centre of Rethymno (10 minutes by foot), in a very quiet position and a nice view to the sea. Our rooms were really large and comfortable, with a huge terrace (there was even a Jacuzzi!). We had a really nice stay, the staff helpful, the athmosphere relaxing, the service excellent. What else can we say...we love Crete and Greece!

Nice suite, some staff great (some not as helpful), location is good but a bit of a walk to the town. Much of the property has been updated but there are some areas that show age (like the elevator).

Good location just on the edge of the old town. Rooms are larger than average with good size bathroom and extended kitchen and living area. Great terrace space. Pool and spa hours could be extended a little longer in the evening and perhaps an 8am breakfast for early risers. The gym was a bit mediocre but as most time was spent outside in the fabulous sunshine this wasn’t much of an issue. Had an enjoyable, relaxing stay.

The hotel was beautiful, and the staff very helpful and eager to please. Breakfasts were really amazing and catered for our unusual dietary needs. It is a 20-25 minute walk into Rethymno old town, which we found very agreeable, but migh5 not be for everyone. Opposite the hotel is a small but very pleasant little beach with an area for swimming/paddling sheltered offfrom the main sea.

Shocking attitude from the staff on the reception desk. They couldn’t be bothered to help. Lazy and rude as well as incompetent. Hotel itself is very average. Only one lift - which didn’t always work Rooms were basic but ok.

Huge rooms with a view of the ocean from a huge balcony. The best breakfast we had during our entire trip. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Location was just outside the city center but not too far to drive.

Great hotel with a very warm welcome
This was our first time at the Macaris and was very impressed. The service was outstanding and the staff extremely helpful. Special mention to Manolis from Kournas. Also Manolis George and Despina were great. Our spacious 2 bedroom had all the amenities needed. The location is a 15 minute walk to the old town and 10 minute walk to the local bus terminal. Although the hotel is on a moderate hill it gives you spectacular views from the hotel. We just missed out on the opening to their new bar on the 4th floor which has sweeping views of the old port and ocean. Looking forward to staying at the Macaris next time we visit Rethymno
