Not worth it

Posted Jul 18, 2014
The few good things about Apartment K do not make up for the bad. The light bulb in our bathroom was out, it took 5 days and three requests to get it fixed. Lots a street noise at all hours, closing the window didn't help. Apartment was dingy and not well maintained. The bathroom didn't have a door, only a clear glass slider. I was not traveling alone. It got awkward.

Spacious quirky apartment in a great location

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Great location. Lots of space. Good heating.
Cons: No curtain in the shower, so water could go a little bit all over the bathroom.
Location: Central location, very handy to walk around and shop.
Stayed at a studio in Apartment K for 5 nights. While the decoration can be a little bit bizarre, it is a very practical and spacious room and as I was hiking, the kitchen and fridge were very handy to prepare meals to take with me on the treks. Location of the apartments is great, very central and close to Grey Lines tours terminal, which means that if you take a tour with them, you don't need to be picked up half an hour in advance, you can just walk to them in 5 minutes. I was staying in room 6, which is the last apartment to the back of the building. It's very handy to get in/out as you can do it directly through a back door instead of walking all the way to the front door. The downside is that on Friday and Saturday night you're very close to,the crowd going clubbing, so some noise can be heard from the street.

Central and spacious

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Location and helpfulness of staff
Cons: Check serviceability of some furniture items
Location: Centrally located so plenty of choice in restaurants, shopping and other activities.
Check-in staff were very helpful, bed extremely comfortable and the apartment was spacious and centrally located. Living area had some chairs with very wobbly legs so would recommend that serviceability is checked from time-to-time. Would definitely rent this apartment again.

central apartment

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Central for daytime
Location: Near most of the sights of Reykjavik and in the main shopping street.
Apartment a bit tatty. No instructions for oven, hob or TV and we didn't manage to get any of them to work. Don't stay here if you like your sleep as it's in the middle of the party area; streets crawling with very noisy revellers from midnight to 5am.

Great location... lacking everything else!

Posted Jun 4, 2014
Aside from the location and convenience, this apartment wasn't really up to scratch. Things seemed to fall apart the moment we walked in!! Our bed sheets has hairs and stains all over them and smelt stale... I asked them to change te sheets but they still didn't look fresh. Service is almost non existent, staff were not prepared to assist us in booking tours - strange considering all brochures were scattered around reception! The toaster didn't work and the tv channels were all encrypted. The three of us had one towel each which were never changed throughout our whole 4 day stay!!! Personally I think this is disgusting considering the price we paid. Overall this is not as described on the website... Definitely not the modern clean hotel we were anticipating!! I would only recommend this hotel due to location as it was so convenient for excursions etc but that is te only reason. This hotel is pretty poor if you're used to being treated like a guest on holiday - cos you won't be!

Clean and Close to the Airport

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: Location to the airport was extremely convenient.
This is a perfect hotel for late arrivals or early departures from Keflavik. It was a quick walk from the airport and provided the essentials for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was included in the morning and had a nice variety.

Great apartment-style living in the heart of town.

Apartment K offers spacious housing steps from the best restaurants, bars, and shops in downtown Reykjavik. The staff is incredibly helpful and polite, offering suggestions of things to do in Iceland and the city as well as providing extra bedding and other amenities as necessary. I would definitely recommend staying here during your visit to Reykjavik.

Nice Stay At Apartment K!

Posted May 14, 2014
Our check in was quick and efficient although not much info was given about the fixtures in the room. That being said, this is the perfect apart-hotel option for settling into Reykjavik for a short stay. The room was modern albeit a bit cramped, but all the luxuries of home were present. A coffee maker with real coffee, washer/dryer combo, dishwasher, stove & oven. The bathroom was replete with volcanic stone that was both exotic & soothing to the feet. The location of the hotel was ideal. Centered in the middle of town with shopping & a market to stock the fridge just around the corner. Downside?: the large LCD TV didn't work properly & couldn't find channels. That may have been my lack of knowledge about this TV. But, I don't think so. There was no actual closet space in the room, nor a dresser to store clothes. Most likely to optimize space. But I had to live out of my bag. Which I didn't enjoy. Instead, a king size platform bed took up most of the bedroom. That helped ease the pain. I guess you have to choose your battles. Some of the bathroom fixtures were a bit worn but natural wood was used and it has cracked & peeled over time. The deluxe rainfall style double shower head fixture made up for any other flaws in the bathroom. The price was a relative bargain for around $125 a night. Overall, a definite "yes" for the economy traveler.
