“Excellent Location”

Breakfast was a big plus on budget. Location is excellent, right in center of city. I had room with great view of the mountain and hallgrims church, and I was so lucky to see the northern light thru hotel window. Highly recommend.

“Great location, good service, acceptable rooms”

Overall, everything went smoothly with the hotel. We stayed there five nights and had no issues with noise (we were on the fifth floor), cleanliness, or the staff. The room was small, but we expected that based on prior reviews. There was basically one room with a bed, a cabinet for hanging clothes, a desk, TV, and a refrigerator (which is stocked with drinks for purchase), and not much else. While spartan and small, the room was fine. The bathroom was also small with a tiny shower area (separated only by a curtain from the rest of the bathroom), toilet, and sink. As the hot water comes from geothermal springs, it smells of sulfur which is kind of cool. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of quickly cleaning it every day. The breakfast (included in the price of the room) was fine - typical European breads, cold cuts, fruit, cereal, coffee. Breakfast was served from 7-10AM daily; the hotel information guide indicated that they would serve an early breakfast at 4-5AM to accommodate guests' travel plans. The staff all spoke excellent English and were helpful with regard to assisting with booking tours, our bus back to the airport, and with answering basic questions. Finally, the location was great! We were within minutes of numerous restaurants, shops, and attractions. We did not rent a car, so can't comment on the availability / ease of parking. We would definitely consider staying at Centerhotel Klopp again if we were in Reykjavik again.

“Great Location”

Hotel Klopp is in the perfect location. It is easy to walk right to everything that Reykjavik has to offer.

“Nice folks, great breakfast, center city location.”

Very nice hotel, in the center of the city, close walking to everything. It got noisy (from the street) on Friday, we requested a room change, and were granted one by the gracious staff, they took care of all the arrangements, we were very pleased with our new accomadation.

“Good Location & Breakfast Buffet”

If you're looking for a place to crash while you're busy in Reykjavick then this hotel is fine. Location is very central. The breakfast buffet is great - lots of fresh things to choose from. Our room was small with no view. Not the kind of room you want to hang out in for any amount of time - but we weren't in Reykjavick to hang out in our hotel room! We were expecting a queen or double bed, but instead had 2 twins - so if that's important might want to double check on that. Staff not particularly engaging or helpful. This was our second trip to Iceland so it wasn't as crucial. But friendly staff would be nice!!!!

“Great Hotel!”

Wonderful hotel in a great location! The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was a plus! The shower is a little small, but overall excellent stay.

“Okay Hotel, Excellent Location”

This is definately a 3 star hotel at best. Cons: Small rooms, maybe 15ftx15ft at most. TV only had 2 english channels, that repeated alot of content. Internet connection was terrible, very slow/dropping connection Paper thin walls (you think people are in your room). No in-room safe. Pros: Execellent location - only one block from popular street with many bars and restaurants and close to old harbor and waterfront. Free internet in room. Staff is helpful and courtious Mini-fridge & coffee maker. The hotel is just great if you are only using it to sleep in, which makes sense while on vacation.

“Happy Travels”

Overall we were very satisfied with our choice in this hotel. The location was great and the staff very friendly and helpful! The bathroom had a lot of sulfur smell, but this is consistent everywhere in Iceland. There was also a bit of street noise if you faced the street, so I suggest you ask for a back room. I would definitely stay here again on a return visit!

“Basic but delightful”

My wife and I have stayed in hotels from very basic to plush. The Centerhotel Klopp was basic in some ways (room and bathroom on the small side), but the location, cleanliness of rooms and public areas, helpfulness of staff, complimentary breakfast, and good price far outweighed the downsides. We had a great time in Reykjavik, and the Centerhotel Klopp served us very well.
