Sentralt med hyggelig personale

Posted May 24, 2015

Perfect hotel in perfect location

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: Perfect location, extremely helpful & friendly staff, exceptional breakfast, tidy, clean & adequate room with tea/coffee making facilities + soap etc
Cons: We heard the boiler/laundry room occasionally.
Location: Ideal location and easy to access all tourist spots eg Harpa Concert Hall, church on hill, main square, shopping and restaurants
We were blessed with perfect sunny weather throughout our stay. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful and suggested and arranged trips for us to all the tourist sights that we wished to visit, without pressuring us. The bus service was prompt and comfortable. Everyone we met made us feel welcome. Although everything is very expensive in Iceland, we found the food and facilities were excellent and the trips were extremely enjoyable with plenty of time to explore. The island is unique and interesting and we enjoyed bathing in the hot spring pools. The erupting geyser was fascinating and the waterfalls magnificent. The peace and tranquillity of the National Park was a joy. We were lucky to have seen the opening ceremony of the Arts Festival with dancers abseiling and dancing on the side of a building. We would love to return and explore all the things that we didn't have time to visit on this trip and would certainly stay at the same hotel if possible.

Nice staff crazy foreigners

Posted May 15, 2015
Well it was nice to sit back and relax in Reykjavik while we were finishing our stay in Iceland. The room were affordable and nice. But in the middle of the night people were watching horror movie at full volume while it sounded like someone was dying in the hotel and also the drunk tourists were screaming at 2 am because they couldn't find their rooms. I'm sure it was just a bad night or something but I actually liked it there and liked the location near the center of town. Yes this place was great

Greit hotell midt i sentrum

Posted May 12, 2015
Fint utgangspunkt for utflukter.

In the city centre, walking distance of everything

Posted May 11, 2015
Excellent location, however as it is smack bang in the city centre, not the quietest of hotels. Staff were excellent, extremely helpful and nothing too much trouble. Very good breakfast included. You get what you pay for and although not the most luxurious hotel definitely great value for money. I would go back.

Good price, great location, helpful staff

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location and the staff, price and breakfast for free.
Cons: Given the size of the rooms not sure how they could improve.
Location: Pretty much everything was nearby. Seafood Grill-lobster stew yumm. Lebowski's Bar-fun. Bada Zing ice cream-great. Tourist stuff too.
When we arrived in Reykjavik it was quite cold and windy. So happy to find our hotel was in walking distance of everything in town, although due to the weather we did not walk far. The rooms are small and simple but we did not spend much time in them except to sleep, too much to see and do. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most Icelanders speak English as a 2nd language so no problem with communication. The hotel was inexpensive and served a free breakfast on the 3rd floor with a view of the city. Reykjavik is a young persons town with lots of clubs for partying but we found plenty to do although certainly not hipsters. Nearby were facilities for signing up for tours to see the wilds of Iceland. The Golden Circle is just a five hour tour. I recognized a view from Game of Thrones. It was light until midnight already and we missed the aurora by 10 days but loved Iceland.

Budget Hotel, right in the heart of town.

Posted Apr 29, 2015
This hotel is Ok. It is not the 4 star hotel stated. The room was alright but for the price, the fact breakfast was included, and its location it worked for us. The staff were lovely.
