Wonderful location and friendly, healthy staffPosted Jun 19, 2014
We had a wonderful 6 night stay at the City Center Hotel. The staff helped us plan events, find places, and even printed information out for us when we needed it. Such a wonderful, comfortable hotel with hard working, fun and friendly staff.

Great location, helpful staff, cleanPosted Jun 18, 2014
Location: The hotel is right on one of the main streets in downtown. This location is fantastic for access to the bars and restaurants.
We stayed at the City Centre Hotel for four nights. The room was small but had a great balcony with a window that opened. The room had comfortable beds and pillows and pretty decent black out blinds considering it was never dark! We loved the bathroom with the rain shower and appreciated the mini-bar where we could keep some small food items and drinks. As for the hotel, we didn't eat the breakfast but really appreciated the coffee in the mornings and the friendly staff at the front desk. They assisted us with dinner reservations, confirmation of the ferry schedule and assisted us in booking a tour on Vestmannejar. They were extremely helpful. In fact one of them helped us translate a website that we couldn't get to translate into English. We would recommend this hotel to both family and friends, we had a great stay there.

Great Reykjavik HotelPosted May 26, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: It would be great if the water in the bathroom sink and shower could somehow be filtered to get the sulfur smell out.
Location: Only there two nights but the location was great. We were able to walk to a few restaurants.
Enjoyed our 2 night stay at this small but comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and decent size. Bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in in a long time. The hotel offered a hot breakfast every morning for a reasonable price (considering the extremely high cost of food in Iceland). Also, the location was very convenient.

Convenient, Comfortable, and FriendlyPosted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, cleanliness, helpfulness and flexibility of staff, lack of frills.
Cons: Parking can be a bit of an issue, but there may not be much to do about it.
Location: Right in the center of Reykjavik, so everything is convenient, mostly within easy walking distance.
My son and I spent three nights at the hotel in April 2014 and found it precisely right for our needs -- no particular frills, but everything needed for a comfortable business/pleasure visit to downtown Reykjavik. We particularly appreciated the friendly, helpful staff.

Fantastic little hotel!Posted Apr 18, 2014
We stayed for 5 nights in March and I can say that their standard of service was excellent and would put most 4 star hotels to shame. Our room was spacious and clean with "little extras" like disposable slippers and bathrobes provided. The kingsize bed was comfortable with two separate duvets. We were on the 5th floor which did not have much of a view but it was very quiet, no street noise at all. The staff were very polite and helpful, readily providing advice and directions when asked. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of the tourist area so as soon as you step out of the door, whichever way you turn, you will come across a restaurant or cafe within a few steps away. There is also a 24 hour convenience store about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. We had a really enjoyable stay in the City Center Hotel and would recommend it to everyone.

Nice hotel, good location, helpful staffPosted Mar 29, 2014
City Center has a good location within walking distance to lots of bars, restaurants, & shops. The staff was extremely helpful, were always willing to call tour companies, make reservations, loan umbrellas, etc. Room was nice & large by European standards, had a big balcony, & I was surprised at how big the bathroom was (we had a double room.) Def recommend!

Great hotel in the heart of ReykjavikPosted Mar 23, 2014
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The room was on the 6th floor overlooking the main strip and a beautiful view of the mountains in the background. The room facilities were great. The bed was pushed together and very comfortable. There was ample room to put all of our things and the refrigerator came in handy. The staff was extremely helpful, let us check in early, gave us recommendations on places to eat in town and even just had some pleasant conversations with us. The only thing I would suggest is to bring some ear plugs for Saturday nights. There is a very popular club across the street and it gets noisy Saturday until the early hours of the morning. It was just the one night and I have seen that other guests merely just ask for a room in the back. Or if you like to party, this is a perfect hotel since the hottest club is right across the street lol. The noise was not bad enough that it would deter me from staying here again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Great stay!Posted Mar 23, 2014
Awesome location, right on the doorstep of all the bars and restaurants. Grocery store right across the street if you are on a budget. Great staff and excellent beer in the microbar at the hotel.

Great locationPosted Mar 18, 2014
A very clean hotel in a great location. The staff were friendly and eager to help, nothing was too much trouble. It was near to a 24/7 convenience store, which certainly helped with budgeting at the end of the holiday! Also a short distance from the grayline excursions office, which we found pretty handy.

Can't get any better!Posted Feb 25, 2014
City Center Hotel was right in the middle of everything! Want to bar hop...perfect spot to do so! Want to see the city of Reykjavik...perfect location to begin (it is right in the heart of the old town)! Want to have a nice dinner....perfect spot to find good restaurants! Want to do tours of Iceland....absolutely amazing location to start....one of the biggest tour operators in the country is right around the corner (and that is where you depart from). The City Center staff were very pleasant and helpful! I know other people complained about noise from the street at during the night; we heard nothing! Happy traveling in beautiful Iceland!
