This hotel was perfectly satisfactory. Clean and comfortable, with excellent service. I was able to get into my room earlier than expected, which was very convenient since I had arrived by plane at 6 a.m.

Very well located

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: Mainly its location and the staff.
Cons: There wasn't much room for storing your stuff. The small "armoire" was okay to hang some clothes, but the drawers were totally inadequate.
Location: Everything is nearby: restaurants, the harbour, the shopping streets, the bus stations, the concert hall, etc.
The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful, the breakfast adequate but expensive, but so is everything in Iceland. The hotel's big Plus is its location - right in the center of the old downtown - in walking distance of the harbour, the shopping area, many restaurants and to the various bus and pick-up stations (for the airport, or excursions).

City Centre Hotel

Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: Excellent situation in the old part of town, friendly staff and handy for pickup for tours etc.
Cons: Housekeeping could be improved
Location: as above
is fabulously situated in the old town center with easy access to transport. shopping and eating and dining facilities. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and well informed. The 10 Euro breakfast is excellent value and a good selection is available. The only downside is that it is a little shabby in places and the bed base in our room was stained (beer or coffee) the cover could have been removed for cleaning. I would still be pleased to recommend this hotel to young and old alike.

Just as it says on the Web

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: The staff and my room. Especially the location
Cons: Better towels and if it was at all feasible 'Triple Glazing'
Location: A very convenient situation, many excellent places to eat, a short walk to the new concert hall 'Harpa' art galleries and museums. Squares to relax
The only fault I could give was the noise from nearby bars on Saturday night until 4am on Sunday. . The staff were excellent. As a disabled elderly person they were most helpful at any time of the day or night. My cosy room was on the fourth floor, compact with the best bed I have ever slept in.. The cleanliness was top notch. I would have preferred a proper towel instead of a thin cotton one, and my face cloth disappeared on my last day but hey, miner details. This hotel in situated in the most convenient part of the city centre within an area of pleasant squares and many excellent places to eat, Just a very short walk to the harbour and not too far to galleries and museums. They were welcoming to my Grandson who is studying at the University, encouraging him to call on me at any time. I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel but I think I would ask for a higher floor, may be I would not hear the base beat of 'music' as much,

Cramped room, noisy bar next door

Posted May 17, 2015
We stayed here 3 sleepless nights and regretted it. Staff said the noise comes from the bar next door leaving its doors open. The room barely had space for the bed and there is nowhere to place one suitcase let alone two. The water did not flow properly through the showerhead and sprayed everywhere. The bed linens had stains and we did request a change. If we could have changed hotels we would have done so.

A very central located hotel.

Very close to bars and disco's, so a lot of noise from these during the weekend.

city centre hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: Location, price
Cons: less furniture so room feels bigger
Location: can walk around and see the sights of the city - music hall, church. Lots of restaurants and bars next to the hotel. Tour guide office also close
Great location as in the centre, however can be a little noisy at the weekend as next to bars and clubs (which didn't bother me). Staff really helpful and friendly. Room a little on the small side and quite warm however did the job, bathroom had a nice walking in shower. Great city to visit and lots to see and do, all trips very organised.

Sentralt :)

Great location in the middle of everywhere!

The hotel was clean, tidy and the staff were helpful. The hotel isn't exactly luxury but is perfect for a city break in Reykjavik. Parking was a 5 minute walk from the hotel - which I didn't mind.

Nice staff, mediocre rooms

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Like everyone in Iceland, the staff here was fantastic. Very kind, very helpful. The room, however, was a disappointment. It was much dirtier than it should have been, with lots of different colored hair around and a clogged up sink. It also had very thin walls that made it hard to sleep. You know it's bad when you're woken up all night long from people yelling in the streets the night after your red eye flight. I normally sleep through everything. The hotel gets a +1 for location: 30 yards from the hot dog stand. My daughter loved that.
