Great hotel but needs more staff & far from centrePosted Mar 1, 2015
They overbooked and made us move to a different hotel on arriving at 1am on our first night. Needless to say we were not impressed! It didn't seem to occur to them that this was unexpected and unreasonable considering we had paid in full in advance. Not the service I would expect of a Hilton and has put me off staying in one ever again.

Nice HotelPosted Mar 1, 2015
Nice Hotel but location a bit out not much round about but Hotel did provide free bus pass and bus stop just outside hotel. Rooms were nice but pretty small not even a bedside cabinet on one side of the bed. Ate in the Hotel as there were no restaurants close by and the food was excellent and no more expensive than restaurants in town.

1st Iceland visitPosted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Great location, free bus pass was a bonus & the buses frequent from right outside. Lovely big room with a great view across the bay.
Cons: Cleanliness of carpet in bar area, as it was covered in food from bar meals
Location: Highly recommend-: Golden circle tour with Sterma Phalological museum (only 1 in the world) Trip to downtown Reykjavik American Sushi bar
Great trip, snowed on arrival but this enhanced the scenery, room was a twin with pull out for our teenager, but the beds are so big we didn't need the pull out as my wife and I could fit in one. Didn't get to see the lights due to snow storms but maybe next time..... Definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Quality hotel but outside the centrePosted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: The foyer and bright rooms.
Cons: The attitude of the staff and hot plates for hot food.
I was upgraded to an executive room which had wonderful views out to sea. Need transport although a courtesy shuttle to town is offered. Hot food at breakfast was spoilt by cold plates. Desk staff and tourist staff were unfriendly. Although I was given a complimentary executive upgrade, I was not entitled to visit the executive lounge, which spoilt the upgrade a bit.

Reliable quality hotelPosted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: The view from my room and foyer area.
Cons: A more friendly attitude by staff and to include the executive lounge access with an upgrade to an executive room.
Location: You will need transport to visit Reykjavik centre.
Situated outside City centre and needing transport to travel around. Hotel typical Hilton standard with great views over city outskirts to coast. I was given a complimentary room upgrade but no access to the Executive Lounge which rather spoilt the upgrade offer. Staff at both the front desk and travel shop seemed abrupt and somewhat hostile. However, it was a very busy hotel.

Luxury hotel with fantastic viewsPosted Feb 14, 2015
Hotel was amazing in all aspects. The staff were helpful throughout the hotel. The room we had was incredibly spacious, breakfast had a vast choice of items and as we had a room at the front of the hotel, we had brilliant views. The hotel is a little out of the centre but this is not a problem as you are given free bus passes and there are frequent buses right outside the hotel that have you in the centre / main shopping street within 5 minutes. Would definitely return again.

Good hotel in easy reach of townPosted Feb 11, 2015
The hotel was clean and the staff very good. It's a 5min bus journey into town and a travel pass is available to borrow from the hotel. The only downside was the very expensive breakfast not included in room rates but there is a shop around the corner where you can get pastries etc. Also the room had paper cups in it for hot drinks, no milk which was quite poor for a Hilton and the minibar was empty.
