Nice, small hotel near the airport

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Clean, close to airport. Transport to and from airport.
Location: Not much to do in area but if you get a chance, walk to the light house - About 1/2 mile away.
I had a 12 hour overnight layover in Keflavik - Too little time to go to Reykjavik, sleep and get back. Hotel Berg is 5 minutes from Airport and provides transport to and from airport in one of their cars. Hotel is nice, clean. Staff are friendly. Good continental breakfast.

Perfect for an overnight stop-over.

Posted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Very Icelandic in design with lovely artefacts in keeping with the theme. Lovely ambience. Breakfast was novel, do-it-yourself but enjoyable.
Cons: Shuttle service worked, but it would have helped if we had been told beforehand that we would be picked up at the Meeting Point at the airport.
Location: Perfect location for the airport, but we cannot comment on local facilities as we were only there overnight.
We needed somewhere to stay for a short overnight stay, close to the airport and quiet. The Hotel Berg was perfect for this, with the added bonus of collecting us from the airport (at midnight) and returning us there the following morning. Beautifully appointed room, very comfortable bed. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Pros: Quiet location and super cleanliness. Our room was a small apartment with kitchen, living room, and bedroom.
Cons: Nothing wifi was spotty but that may have been our devices.
Location: Close to downtown restaurants, history, museums, pubs, the pond and beautiful Harpa.
It was the third time we have been to Reykjavik and the Castle was a find. Excellent accommodations. We stayed in the Castle Apts next to the art museum and across from the pond. Excellent quiet location within easy walking of downtown and Harpa. I only wish we could find such good accommodations in every country we visit.

excellent hotel

Hotels seem to be expensive in Iceland but at this one you definitely feel you're getting your money's worth! Perfectly placed for access to keflavik airport, very clean and well decorated... I could go on but it's maybe just best to say I couldn't think of anything it should improve on.

Wonderful stay.

The Hotel Berg was wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful and the facility was lovely, rivaling any B & B in the US. I would highly recommend it to any visiting Iceland as it is walking distance to the town of Keflavik and the tour buses will pick you up at the hotel driveway.

Great place to stay near the airport

Best hotel to stay before early morning departure. Stayed 2 nights so we could explore the surrounding area and glad we did. Note, however, that a car is a must if you want to explore the area outside of the small town. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly - loved the common sitting area looking out across the water. Felt very comfortable and homey - extremely clean. Fabulous breakfast --- tea and coffee available all day long. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderfully Quaint Hotel

After staying in the Hotel Centrum in Rekjavik for a week, which was a nice place but typically uniform, the Hotel Berg was a nice way to end my trip. Very comfortable and inviting, excellent breakfast, and a wonderful staff made this a very enjoyable stay. The owner's English Bulldog, who watches the office from a leopard patterned pillow, is a delight.

Comfort near the airport

Helpful staff provided pick-up and delivery service to airport. Clean, comfortable room, nice bathroom, black-out shades, excellent breakfast. A great place to stay if you're catching a flight in the morning.
