“Great for walking Reykjavik!”

For our first trip to Iceland, we had no idea what to look for in a hotel. We had only 4 days, and wanted convenience to attractions, but not some big chicken coop chain. Hotel Holt was perfect for our stay. It is located near the old downtown (City Center), and is very walkable to many museums, restaurants, parks, and even the bus station. It is located in a residential area, and walking the little streets provided countless surprises and views into everyday city living in Reykjavik. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. The buffet breakfast was the same each day, but it offered many choices from fresh fruit to pickled herring. September is rainy - try August, instead!

“Great location - can't go wrong with Hotel Holt”

My wife and I are in our late 20s and stayed at Hotel Holt during our entire time in Iceland. It is a clean, comfortable hotel with a decent breakfast buffet that was included in our room rate. The location was probably the best part - it is located on a quiet residential street, but is only a few blocks from the downtown shopping and bars. We walked to all of our Reykjavik destinations. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if I return to Iceland.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Holt. It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the center of town, and is a great location. It's on a quiet street, so you don't hear the noise from the bars. All the staff members were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was good, too. Highly recommended!

“Quiet, but close to everything!”

I should start of by stating that Iceland is absolutely amazing - words cannot describe the beauty of the landscape, friendliness of the people, and the great nightlife on the weekends! The hotel was in a quiet neighborhood, but superclose to everything, so you got the best of both worlds - a scenic neighborhood, with the "city" right there! Friendly and courteous staff, breakfast was suffice, and the hotel was saturated with art and beautiful decor. Would recommend this place, and will stay there the next time I go!

“Elegant Icelandic Haven”

Although the facade and street are unimpressive, stepping into the Hotel Holt is a wonderful surprise. Its walls are lined with impressive Icelandic oil paintings, and the decor is sleek and elegant. The staff is efficient and freindly. The restaurant is first class, although pricey. Its a short walk from all the action on a very quite street. Transportation and tourist services provide free shuttle service. Well worth a visit.

“Charming and Convenient - Reykjavik gem”

Requested an early check in, and a room was ready for me on arrival (7am), including the opportunity for breakfast. Friendly and efficient check in process. Very comfortable room, spacious and clean. Was even offered a light snack while waiting for a bus pick up at 5am. Highly recommended

“Very decent and calm hotel”

Very decent and nice hotel. Situated in a calm residential area but just 5 mins' walk to the main streets of touristic downtown. The restaurant was very good with excellent service and loved by many local people. I was offered coffee and snack at reception when checked out at 4.30 am for an early flight. Strongly recommand for business purpose.

“I will go back”

The Holt Hotel is very nice and well locteed within walking distance of the shopping area and rsetaurants. Their restaurant is outstanding and superior to many restuarants in Paris (yes Paris where I live almost half of the time). Also they have one of the most extensive high end wine list I have ever seen. Serving staff remarkable. As matter of fact, we ate their the second night by fear of not being able to match the quality elsewhere.
