Good hotel with excellent breakfast and staff!

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Staff, breakfast, location.
Cons: Finish Rena's.
Location: Very handy to the airport,a few miles from Reykjavik, an excellent place to begin an Icelandic adventure!
Hotel was clean, comfortable. Seem to be doing a bit of up-grading/renovating. Some door frames, baseboards etc in process of being changed. Very clean in spite of this. Breakfast was exceptional-buffet, with lots of tasty, fresh fruits, bread products, meats, etc Staff also were excellent and very professional, went above and beyond what could be expected, during booking process and during our stay! Thank you Linda!

Good location for late night arrival

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: location to the airport
Cons: everything else
We arrived in Iceland at midnight and made a point of booking Close to the airport since the city is about 30 minutes away. The hotel is easy to get to, they paid the cab fare to the hotel. The hotel room was so tiny, we could barely get our suitcases in. The room was drab, beds were not comfortable, bathroom was so cramped it was ridiculous. I would not recommend.

A tough go in the shoulder season

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: The staff were super helpful, answering any question, and offering assistance. The hotel is very close to a nice coastal walking route.
Cons: The whole place felt either out-of-date or worn. Faulty shower seals, aged decor, ancient TV. The restaurant was pricey, even by Icelandic standards.
Location: Close to the airport with free taxis to and from.
I would recommend this hotel if you get stuck at the airport in Iceland, but not to use as a home base for tourism. This hotel epitomizes "faded glory." It must have really been something when it was built. In fact, if you have a hankering for a late-80's/early 90's experience, have at it! The staff is jolly and dedicated, I get the sense they love the place.

A warm welcoming Icelandic hotel.

Pros: The receptionist were friendly and willing to help their customers.
Location: It was located near the town centre and the local football and swimming grounds. The town centre was in easy access.
The hotel was situated next to the town centre. It was easy to travel to and thro from Reykjavik with a regular hourly bus service. The coach service was not expensive and offrered various trips in order to see its beauty.

The facility & the staff are excellent.

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Clean and excellent staff
Cons: Check in time and also, more shuttle options to Blue lagoon.
Location: Blue lagoon, Reykjavik and the town, Keflavik is a nice little small town on the coast.
I had an excellent experience at this facility and would recommend to any one. Only issue is the check in time, 2.00 pm is rather too late. And also, there are not many shuttle service option for going and coming back from Blue lagoon.

I arrived very late at night and the staff were welcoming and I was pleased with the room. I awoke to an excellent breakfast and a complimentary ride back to the airport. I was very pleased with the accommodations.

Since '97, a happy regular guest at Hotel Keflavik

Pros: Good rooms and atomsphere, perfect location with only a 10 minute drive from the nearby international airport. Taxi fares to the airport are free.
Location: A stroll along the seaside, enjoying the fresh North Atlantic air.
Pleasant as always. With time for my usual 35 run along the coastline toward the south.

Nice hotel, small room, overpriced

Posted Apr 30, 2014
Pros: proximity to airport, quality of breakfast
Cons: overpriced for the rooms provided
Location: airport location, blue lagoon is 20 min drive
Hotel was nice, but compared to the room it is very overpriced. The room was small but comfy, bed was good, TV worked and the internet too. It's really a 3 star hotel with an en suit bathroom. Breakfast was really a huge selection and high quality.

a good hotel I would stay again

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Good hotel, clean and comfortable. The staff if friendly and kind to help me to solve problems, book tours and answer questions. I was very satisfied the service and breakfast. The hotel has good location It is close to bus station and airport as well as near the some restaurants. In addition, the sea view just near the back side of hotel, it's very suitable to have a walk or running. I would like recommend the hotel if you want to live in Keflavik.
