Nice Hotel

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Clean and friendly. Service was excellent.
Cons: The beds are a bit hard and the pillows were not comfortable.
Location: The hotel is a few blocks from the action and everything is walking distance that you might want to do.
The hotel is a few blocks from the action and you can walk to most anything from here. The staff were very attentive and the facility if very clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but after staying in 6 different hotels in Iceland it was as good as any other. The pillows are not great. I would stay here again - it was nice to be a bit out of the downtown so it was a little quieter at night.

Noisy at night

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Staff was very friendly & accommodating. Delayed luggage on the flight, so they provided robes and toiletries to get us through.
Cons: 2nd visit to hotel was in a room facing the street. Bathroom was small. No mirror except for bathroom making it hard for 2 to get ready.
Our first visit to Hotel found all rooms booked so they placed us in one of their apartment rooms in town. Every night partiers on the street began around 11 p.m., not finishing until the wee hours of the morning. Even with windows closed I could hear and feel the bass of the local bands at the bars. Not good for trying to get some rest. Two of the mornings had street sweepers begin at 5:30 a.m., or garbage trucks at the same time. Apartment close, walking distance to most sites in the city. Did not provide blackout curtains, which are necessary in summer of 24 hour daylight.

Location: its ok , its about a 5 minute walk from the main street , but then again most hotels are so nothing special
Small room, weird curtain that does not block the light properly and the bathroom kinda smelled.

Good centrally located hotel in Reykjavik.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The staff was excellent and always helpful with answering questions. The Snaps restaurant, part of the hotel, was fun and had great food and energy.
Cons: The price and value didn't match up. We thought our room was overpriced for three nights and we could have stayed at the Colonnade in Boston for the
Location: Reykjavik is fun, especially the Blue Lagoon, but hugely expensive, so be warned! They really gouge tourists.
The staff was the best of the experience: very accommodating, helpful, and cheerful. Our room was very small and located on the first floor facing the street, so we heard the buses picking up and dropping off hotel guests during most of the early hours from 3 a.m. on. Also, when we arrived we found chocolates and a split of wine waiting for us on the first and then again on our second night. We assumed this was complimentary only to find that we were charged for the bottles on our minibar tab. On the night we settled our bill the bottle of wine wasn't there. The fact that the bottles on the desk were part of the mini bar arrangement wasn't explained and we thought reception should have been honest. The cost didn't matter but the dishonesty did.

Very nice but squeezy

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Very trendy. Very helpful staff. Restaurant and bar in the hotel ls wonderful, but prices are off the charts. Two drinks (Cosmos) $28.00 for example.
Cons: Update the room furniture and work on the prices in the restaurant and bar.
Location: It is a few blocks from the main shopping area with great restaurants. That would be a 5 minute walk. Harbor is at the bottom of the hill, about 10 mi
Very nice hotel in a good part of town. Very safe and staff was great. Room was adequate but furniture was a bit dated and the shower was very tight quarters. It's a cool hotel and you should be pleased with the overall experience. I am being picky if I make a negative comment. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Perfect.

Ideal location to the main shopping street (Laugavegur) as well as walking distance to the old and new harbours, there is also a bakery 2 streets away that does yummy chocolate croissants, an excellent cheap breakfast. Friendly staff who speak excellent English. I stayed in room 117, which Lonely Planet claims is haunted, the staff say differently, shame I would have liked to have stayed in a haunted room!!! Thoroughly recommend this hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Nice hotel, perfectly located in Reykjjavik

Posted Jun 7, 2014
Pros: Hotel is perfectly located. steps away from the central downtown but located so you can get a great nights sleep as the partying continues into dawn.
Cons: Nothing really, good hotel, very descent price. Good value here.
Location: Very well located. Much to see in Reykjavik and all accessible from the hotel by foot. Most tour operators pick up and drop off at hotel.
Hotel staff was very helpful and kind. went out of their way to make my stay very enjoyable. Restaurant and bar were very good. Hotel provided easy access to downtown. Only steps away. Yet was far enough away from the central bar/partying strip that you were not up until dawn bothered by the noise.
