clean, very well equipped and in nice quiet areaPosted Aug 12, 2014
Cons: only negative - no kettle ( had to use a pan), but otherwise very well equipped with everything you should need. Would highly recommend.
Location: quiet location, within easy walking distance of the seafront & about 10-15mins walk along to the centre of the city. small supermarket 3-5 mins walk
lovely clean apartment in a fairly new quiet complex. Easy parking. Would recommend to anyone.

Not nice and did not feel safe.Posted Aug 11, 2014
Cons: Should not be let to families
Location: In the centre of Reykjavik, this would be a great apartment for young people but is not suitable for a family.
We were allocated an apartment in the centre Reykjavik on the ground floor of a small building that had an apartment above it. There were people wandering past our windows at all hours. There was a staircase that was in the second bedroom that creaked when ever anyone went up and down them including a dog. There was loud music both nights and at 4am the police arrived to collect a drunk woman screaming outside the children's bedroom. The next night a group of Italians had a BBQ outside until the early hours. The apartment was small and there was no TV. It did not feel safe and I would not recommend or go back there.

Great location, Large, Scalding showerPosted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Location near shopping and touristy things. LARGE apt with nice livingroom/full kitchen combo.
Cons: The tiny shower that you cannot lean over in, that a 150 pound person cannot pick up shampoo off the floor because it is so small! Scalding water.
Location: Two short blocks to main gift shops, and many restaurants. The BEST BAKERY ever is just a few doors down! Not far (10-15 min walk) to old harbor.
This apartment has a HUGE living room/kitchen room and a small bedroom with a door, and a small bathroom with the smallest shower in the world. We are not large people (averaged sized Americans) but found it very difficult to fit inside this tiny shower! It is 24 inches by 24 inches in a quarter circle, with the pipes and knobs in the center so it is really tiny. The worst part though is that it has a broken temp setting and all you get is HOT SCALDING water or off. Nothing else is possible. The apartment is in a great location, just a few short blocks to the main shopping cneter and toruisty areas and maybe 10 -15 min walk to the old harbor. Kitchen has all the appliances and plenty of pots, cups, plates etc--everything you'd need if you wanted to cook. One other main drawback is how you get in -- you have to go to the office of the rental agancy which is very far from teh apratment, use a combination to get the key out, then, hike to the apartment, and let yourself in. NO humna contact. And for us, they left us the wrong keys and we coudl not get in --after 20 min of walking to the apt! So, we had to go down the street, find a nice business owner and beg to use their phone -- and the owner did show up right away with the proper keys and an apology. The apt is clean, but the shower leaks and drips endlessly and there is bad moisture damage on the ceiling of the bathroom. The living room/kitchen is modern and clean and nice. The bed is comfy. The location is great.

Quiet guest house with good amenitiesPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: I enjoyed the space, the comfort, and the plethora of appliances and space. It's functionally a house for a family.
Cons: The sink drain and shower drains were slow to drain, and the laundry machine could be accompanied by a dryer.
Location: Grocery is found up the road at Noatun (on Noatun road). Nightlife is found along Laugavegur.
The hotel was a converted apartment in a quieter part of town- the major nightlife was roughly 10 minutes away on foot. The plus side is that it was huge, clean, and close to a bona fide grocery store. Unlike a traditional hotel room or hostel stay, this hotel seemed to give off more of a home vibe. Part of that is due to its location in a regular apartment complex; it was not unusual to see the regular dwellers of the apartments come and go, and it made for an all the more authentic Icelandic experience.

Great place to see ReykjavikPosted Jul 28, 2014
Cons: The coffee maker was a little mysterious by North American standards, and the internet password was hard to find until we asked.
This was a beautiful flat an excellent distance from everything we needed to get to in town. The facilities and rooms were everything we needed to have a relaxing stay and occasionally have guests for dinner while we were at a conference. Be aware that you will need to provide your own groceries and shower toiletries if you stay here -- it's a self-catering place, lots of great cooking equipment provided, along with starter cleaning bathroom supplies. Towels & linens were all provided. The decor was lovely and comfortable.

MisinformationsPosted Jun 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
It turned out that the location of the apartment is different than what I haved thought to book. I received this information only in a very late e-mail. The contact provided was unreachable when I needed it (for a whole day, from morning till afternoon in the given office hours), and the office was closed as well without a proper sign. (There was a tight time limit indicated for key pickup.) After all, maybe all would have been settled, but as I was in panic about this situation in a foreign country, I went to stay in another apartement.

Apartment in heart of ReykjavikPosted Jun 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a relatively new operation. They offer a set of apartments in different locations. They should work on their logistics in assigning the specific apartment to the guests, and improve communications and timeliness by various electronic media. However, once you are in there; the apartment was outstanding and the location cannot be beaten. Would go back.
