Convenient overnighterPosted Sep 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very convenient location next to hauptbahnhof but quiet room nonetheless. Free local transit pass came in handy as there was a local site we wanted to visit. Our room was prepaid which made check in and check out very easy. The fellow who checked us in was friendly, but suggested we might be happier not having breakfast in the hotel because it was an extra that would be charged to the room. He went on to say that breakfast in the train station would be more affordable. I could be wrong by it felt like he didn't want to be bothered with having to process that extra charge. I also have to wonder what it was about my spouse and I that would make this fellow think we were hard up for cash!

Very helpful and friendly staffPosted Sep 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, you really felt that nothing was too much trouble. They give you a free travel card to use on the Mannheim public transport which was very handy as well. The room itslef was clean and big enough for the amount of time that we spent in it (basically were in there to sleep and shower). Bathroom was immaculate and looked like no-one had ever used it before. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Would definitely stay there again.

One of the nicest InterCityHotelsPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Mannheim InterCityHotel is the newest and nicest of the ICHs in which we have stayed. Our only gripe with all these hotels is they don't offer free wifi and they need to buy higher quality bath towels. This hotel is just across from Mannheim Central Station and within walking distance of a supermarket (LIDL) and rrestaurants. Walk out the back and you are near a nice park that runs along the river.

Hot Water InterruptionPosted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
I arrived Tuesday for a two night stay. My business meeting was Wednesday afternoon and evening. I attempted to take a shower at 10:30 AM and there was NO HOT WATER. Freezing cold. I called the desk, and she acted surprised and said she would report it right away. I waited a while, but had to suffer through a miserable cold shower. I stopped by the desk on the way to my meeting, and the man told me they were doing planned maintenance and the water heaters were shut down at 10 AM. "Most of our guests shower before 10 AM." No notice had been left in the room, his apology was weak, and no compensation was offered. Pathetic. Also internet was very expensive. Facility was fairly new and modern, but management needs to do better. Location next to the main train station.

one of the nicest Intercity HotelsPosted Jul 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
We picked the hotel because of its nearness to the central station. It turned out to be a very nice hotel, probably the best Intercity Hotel in whcih we have stayed. The rooms are upscale and very nice. We highly recommend the hotel. The only downside is a lack of free wi-fi. This should be included at any hotel at this level.

Super CleanPosted May 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Probably most clean hotel room I've ever stayed in; bathroom in particular. Location is good since just next to the train station but of course it is so noisy when window is opened. Pillows were so thin and soft, I had to use double pillow, still didn't help. Hotel should provide different kinds of pillows

Good value except for the breakfast.Posted Apr 27, 2013
Cons: Cost of breakfast
Good location beside the main railway station and tram stops. The only down side is the cost of breakfast, but there is a Coffee Fellows in the station which is much cheaper.

Would be great, except...Posted Apr 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great staff, super friendly and helpful. Good location by the train station. Not so good aspects trumps that: internet was lousy, very expensive and had to pay again to sign on each individual device. Also building construction very flimsy; neighbor closes door and walls shake, neighbor closes window and... walls shake, terrible sound proofing too so you hear what is going on next door and in the hallway.
