Needs significant improvement

I wrote to the hotel about my stay and have not received a response. Guess they just don't want to improve - Whilst checking in to the hotel was very satisfactory, as soon as I arrived at the room I was disappointed, and the negatives simply kept coming: while you state it's a new hotel, the general condition of the room suggests otherwise, with multiple marks and holes on the walls and on the window. I took a shower just after arriving, however when I opened the tap, brown water came out. Furthermore, the shower head height would not keep in place, and despite the shower door it leaked water all over the bathroom floor. - low quality, wobbly desk; extremely poor lighting in the room unless all lights on; dust flying around everywhere, no laundry bag; amateurish hotel guide; very basic toiletries; smaller than standard towels. - the double bed (not two singles stuck together) was supplied with two single duvets - hotel felt unsafe with a window that could open completely and a door that was seemingly quite light (is it a fire door?) Furthermore, before going to bed as I closed the curtains, it revealed that there were three rather large insects in the curtains' folds, which is absolutely disgusting and verifies that the room hadn't been cleaned in an unacceptable period of time.Finally, a few minutes after I got out of the shower the next morning, one of your housekeepers knocked and without waiting for response directly opened the door quickly, to restock the minibar

The hotel was ok but no air con it was 34 degree mini bar not cold hot, and at the end of it all bed did not get changed and room did not get clean properly, one bar staff with long hair never smiled and not pleasent in wrong job. F1 I went to was fab. Would not stay there again

Great stop

Pros: Its location and comfort, downtown Mannheim was two blocks away, as well as all major attractions in the city.
Cons: Noise isolation in the room doors, it needs a bit of improvement as the noise from the corridor can be easily heard
Location: A visit to the Mannheim University and some of the museums is a must. Heilderberg, 20 min away by tram, is a must.
As part of our visit to Germany we stop over Mannheim to see the city. The hotel was great, very well located, comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was corteous and dilligent, and although is in its pre-opening period, we did not have any problems.

Nice hotel in the city

Pros: The rooms were large and very nicely furnished. The beds comfortable, the bathroom clean and the shower good. The hotel generally was well kept & tidy
Cons: The morning staff were very brusque in contrast to the night staff. There should be an easier way for the staff to be able to confirm the right info
Location: The location was good, easily walked to from the station with the Tower, the Rosengarten about 15 minutes walk away. It was quiet tho' on a busy stree
The hotel was very nicely appointed. The staff generally were very helpful. However we were assured that breakfast was already paid for and when checking out we had to pay for breakfast and the way in which it was dealt with was not very helpful. We realise now that we hadn't paid for breakfast but we had forgotten and asked the night staff and were assured that we had paid and we were annoyed at the way we were dealt with on leaving the hotel. We were dealt with by two staff members on checking out, one said we had already paid the other said we hadn't then proceeded to talk to the other member in German and we were subsequently asked to pay for breakfast. We suggested that perhaps the staff should ALL be taught how to read the computers properly and perhaps the night staff should be told of this mix up. I have to say that the night staff had been particularly helpful but the morning staff were very brusque. The mix up meant that an otherwise pleasant stay was spoilt. If I recommend someone to stay there I would make sure they know about breakfast and suggest they have it elsewhere!!

The only thing I can really complain about is the lack of air conditioning. I kept sweating.

Hotel is still in soft-opening status.

The Wyndham Mannheim has just recently had its soft-opening and there are still a few construction sites in the complex of buildings. However the hotel rooms are quite spacious and have a minimalist but very tasteful equipment. The staff is really friendly and helpful and valued every guest and the breakfast offer is quite extensive and presented with high attention to detail. If you arrive by car it might be a problem to find a parking place free of charge in the streets around the hotel but I managed to get one directly aside. There is also an underground parking offered by the hotel - however this is with costs. All in all I liked the stay!

One night in Manheim

Cons: Finish construction
Location: Lots of places to eat and about 5 km from Sap Arena
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The hotel is currently under construction and the new look is a little cold and uninviting.
