“Rhodes Visit 2011”

Our hotel was easy to locate, as it was in Kalithea & easily located with a map provided by our car rental business. The hotel staff was very nice, helpful & pleasant. Everyone knew some level of English. The morning breakfasts that were part of the stay (apparently in every Greek hotel) was delicious & was provided buffet style with fresh fruits, juices, many egg dishes provided in 5-6 different styles. A lot of breads & cheeses were available & the dining room where this was provided offered beautiful views. The rooms were private & the bathrooms large; comfortable beds & always a large balcony. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Area recommendations
Old Town, which is a Medieval Castle wherein bars, restaurants & shops are located within the walls of this Castle. It is very interesting archeologically & the small walkways are great for photography buffs. The Temple of Αphrodite is located within the walls of the Medieval Castle, which had been recently excavated. There are many rooftop bars & restaurants where one can sit & enjoy people-watching, being among such history & to just enjoy the beautiful weather on this island.
When to go
April thru May are beautiful times to travel to Greece. However, our trip there in the month of April was a bit different, as it was a very unusual cool & rainy time for Greece. Also, the Orthodox Easter was occurring while we were there & this was slightly before the tourist season, which made for many places to not be open & owners to be away at home preparing for the Orthodox Easter festivities.
