Hotel in good location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
We used this location as a jumping off point to several tourist areas e wanted to explore: Ribe, Fano, LEGOLAND and the beach. The ferry was close enough to walk to and all other locations were within a short car drive. The hotel itself was comfortable, were enjoyed live music in the cellar bar, the food was excellent, breakfast was included and contained a diversity of items, and the waitstaff were friendly. There are also nearby restaurants that are within a block. Our room faced the outside bar and park area. Each early morning, this was a route for people heading home from the nearby bars and so were we awoken very early every day from outside shouting and singing or impromptu games of soccer.

Excellent, well-designed, nicely-staffed hotel

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: The room was well designed and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good.
Cons: The breakfast buffet could be replenished more often. The rollaways could have better mattresses.
Location: The location was excellent - close to the train station, shopping district, museum, and several local bus lines.
We all enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is very conveniently located to the train station, shopping district, museum, and local bus lines. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-designed. Our kids would have preferred better mattresses on the rollaways. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was quite pleasant. The buffet could have been replenished more regularly to keep it looking "fresh" and inviting. We all enjoyed our stay and, if ever in town, we would certainly stay in the Hotel Britannia again!

Happy with the hotel but not happy with reception

Upgraded to Business room which was nice. Nicer hotel than others in the area/price range. Good breakfast. Irritated by staff who we called in advance to request an European/British adaptor and were told no problem, it would be in our room on arrival. When we arrived and asked for the same, we were told that no adaptor available without any apology for the inconvenience.

Good central location.

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Location, room was clean and functional.
Cons: There is only one elevator, so at busy times there were long waits.
Location: We stopped here so that my wife could see where her grandmother was born, (town close by).
We only spent one night as we were touring, but many others probably do the same if they are working offshore. Staff were helpfull, on site parking was difficult because there were several business meetings going on the day we arrived. Breakfast was ok, we had dinner in the restaurant, a limited menu overall it was fine.

First visit to Denmark.

Pros: The breakfasts.
Cons: To tell clients that you do not take reservations for dinner. We reserved a table one night only to find when we got there that it was occupied.
Location: The location is good. There are a variety of things to do nearby. A visit to the island of Fano is a must and also the ancient city of Ribe is lovely
We found the food at a nearby restaurant better than the hotel's evening meal, and at a more reasonable price. We ordered fish at the Britannia one night but they had none left and could not offer us any other fish.

Best hotel in Esbjerg

Posted Apr 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
I frequently stay at this hotel when visiting family in Esbjerg. This modern hotel is very clean, efficient, and the staff is always friendly. Location just off the central square is perfect. Rooms are on the small side, but equivalent to anything you will find in the area (or anywhere in Northern Europe). The included breakfast has everything you need to get your day started. If you are there Thurs - Sun, check out The Underground in the basement...a live music venue that is good for a couple of beers with the locals. The hotel is located next to the central square and a block from the shopping street. My only disappointment on this trip was that they have subcontracted their parking and are now charging roughly US$10 per night (a difference from 9 weeks ago). If you need a workout room, ask for a "50% off" coupon to Fitness World. It is a good gym just a block away (this hotel doesn't have a workout facility).

The hotel and staff were great with one exception. There was mold in the corners of the tub and with the smell permeating into the room. The room was cleaned each day.
