“Great Location Attentative Staff”
Hotel I believe was just renovated. Looks of nice English character. Staff was friendly and very helpful with directions for any place i needed to go. Would reccomend to anyone.
“Wonderful hotel, not so wonderful staff”
Lobby: Very nice. Looks like an english hunting lodge. As I left the front desk, I sampled the hot cider that was available and fell in love with it. No cider was available for the rest of our 3 night stay however, even after repeated requests. There was ample seating in numerous rooms in the lobby area. All areas were very plush and cozy. There was always a fire going in the fireplace. The room: Smaller than expected, but large enough and very well decorated. Footboard on the beds are very dangerous however. The bed was really comfortable but did have a dip in the center of it. The bathroom is very tiny. The windows do open, but only partially as the HVAC ducts prevent opening the shutters more than 2 inches. The TV was adequate. The wifi worked great and I never had an issue with it. The linens were nice and adequate. There was an abundance of 8 pillows in our room. Fox & Hounds: Big disappointment. Too busy on weekends with hipsters crowding out hotel guests. Ran out of Guniess. Staff was indifferent to needs of hotel guests. Parking: park in the underground garage. very nice Breakfast: another let down. It was a couple varieties of muffins, some bread and bagels, fresh fruit, and cereals and instant oatmeal. None of the "hot meats" advertised on the website. Afternoon Tea: Tea bags and hot water. No pastries or biscuits. Overall, the hotel was a great value in a wonderful part of town. I would definitely stay there again, but with lower expectations.
“Thanksgiving”
Great
“Can't wait to return. Plan to go back next month!”
The renovations were fabulous... our new favorite place to stay!
“Jolly Old England”
Staying at the Cheshire is part of the experience of the trip. Each room is named after an English literary figure. You get a book mark with the name of the writer and there is a book in the room of works of the person. There is wood paneling all around, pictures of England, including three Warhols of the queen, and so on. The room was very nice and the fish and chips good. THe location is near I-64 but far enough away that there is no freeway noise.
“A Royal Pleasure”
I stayed at the Cheshire for 6 nights on a business trip. It was a great choice. The staff was as warm and welcoming as the decor. The rooms were spacious enough and the beds were very comfortable. The fitness center was above average for a hotel and very clean. The continental breakfast was fresh and tasty, and I appreciated the excellent coffee that was free and available all day. The only downside was the bar menu, which was quite limited. However, there are restaurants and a large grocery store within a short walk. I would highly recommend this hotel. It felt like home from day one.
“Interesting place”
Interesting place with realistic English Inn atmosphere. The 'library' is a great place to read the paper or a book by the fire. Room condition was okay but not great (no latch on window, one mirror, thin walls, ac noisy). The bed was very comfortable.
“Great Beds. Essentially a Bed and Breakfast style hotel.”
Incredibly easy to get to as you exit off off of expressway and the hotel is straight ahead. The beds were very nice pillowtops, slept wonderfully. Hotel ammenities are a little light but the whole feel is that of a nice Bed and Breakfast more than a hotel. I will definitely stay there again for the beds alone. The neighborhood is ok but not great and you will need a car to go to any nice restaurants or shopping.
“One of the best hotels you will find for the cost!”
It is hard to praise The Cheshire highly enough. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The room are very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was quite good. This is the kind of hotel where you simply want to find a place by the fire and curl up with a book. I definitely plan on going back there in the future.
“will come back again”
everything was wonderful
