Rough night.

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: Neat decor
Cons: mattress. Air conditioning
We started in one room but had to move due to non working air condition. No apology offered. Bathroom light would not shut off in either bathroom. Mattress was horrible almost folded in the middle. Did not get much sleep. Also, dirty dishes in the hall at 11:00 pm at night from breakfast. Gross. Did not explain breakfast policy when checking in, so we didn't know it was offered.

Could've been better

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Cleaner rooms and better parking so you don't have to pay $7
Location: Everything zoo, forest park, ect
Upon arriving into my room I noticed that everything was dusty. I looked up and next to my air vent was a huge section of dirt and dust. On top of a dirty room the toilet is broken. I called to complain and got offered another room that wasn't fit or my family because it was 1 bed. Then was told that I could check out the next day and stay at another hotel. Wasn't offered any kind of compensation besides someone can dust and fix the toilet. The pool was great but never has towels and when asked took at least 15 mins both times and they would only bring 5 towels for a pool full. Overall beautiful hotel but I will never stay here again. Not pleased at all!!

Unique. Well done.

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Everything, except: parking and a/c.
Cons: Was there when repaving parking lots: horribly inconvenient with no directions. Smell of asphalt was noxious. Room might have needed better a/c.
Location: Zoo, park, gardens.
Positives: staff excellent, location excellent, cleanliness excellent. Would definitely stay again. Even negatives like inconvenient parking, etc, and room temp will be overcome. Of course, it was the hottest day of the year, to date, so that might have had something to do with the a/c. And the parking lot was being repaved. Courtesy of the staff actually made up for the negatives.

Bad experience here.

Warped window frame in the bathroom so it wouldn't close. Lots of traffic right off the front of our room so it was very loud. Sofa was dirty and when we pulled the sheets back on the bed, there were hairs all over it. These weren't washed and stuck to the sheets, these were a bunch of loose hair laying all over the bed. Not only that, but when we called to have the sheets changed, room service told us that they had given out all of the blankets for the evening and only had sheets. I was very disappointed for the $250 we spent for one night. I thought I was taking my family to a very nice place that was clean and comfortable. When they asked how our stay was, they made note of the window that was damaged, but told me they couldn't do anything about the room rate because of dissatisfaction. The staff was nice and the lobby and breakfast area were nice, but nothing makes up for an unclean and loud room.

Great hotel & close to Wash U!

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Ambiance & food. The parking was super convenient.
Cons: A reading light closer to the reading chaise lounge.
Location: The St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, and Delmar Loop.
Our daughter was attending SOAR at Wash U and we wanted to explore the area. The Cheshire is in a great location. We explored the University, Delmar Loop, and Forest Park. We loved the ambiance of the hotel. The English breakfast was perfect for us. We enjoyed having a lounge and restaurant right there. Overall great experience!😀
