Fine staff and close to the terminal.Posted Feb 5, 2014
Very fine staff. Bar and restaurant very good for this level of travel. Hotel seems to have been done over recently with new carpet, furniture, TVs etc. The classic complaints have been: The plumbing is loud and it is. The AC/Heat is loud and it did wake me up repeatedly when it came on until I turned it off. The grout in the bathroom shower/tub looks old and a bit ragged and it does, although the bathroom is otherwise nice. The location is great, just across the street from the terminal. Both times I stayed here it was when my flight was cancelled, I was stranded, and desperately needed a place to stay. Both times they were very welcoming and it was a great relief to walk in the room and lie down after a rough day. The picky traveler will find many things to criticize and I probably wouldn't stay here for a vacation, but for a port in a storm it will do just fine.

Fine for overnight stayPosted Dec 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel and the room were fine for a short stay, which is what we needed. The room was old and clearly had some water damage, but there didn't appear to be any active leaks. The bed was comfortable enough.

First rate service!Posted Oct 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
We couldn't have been more pleased with our one-night stay at the Doubletree near the Richmond airport! We had an early flight to catch the next morning and not only was there 24-hour airport shuttle service, but the hotel offered us parking for six days at a third of the cost of parking our car in the airport lot. The food service staff even put together some breakfast items for us to take along to take to the airport since we had to miss the complimentary breakfast.

Paid too much for too little DOES NOT EVEN INCLUDE A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. Buffet is $15 in addition to the rusted, banged up room with the paper walls. You can hear the guests next door talking through the walls.

Pros: Close proximity to the airport
Location: Really close to the airport, but not within walking distance to restaurants and shops
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Room was nice and recently remodeled. Will definitely stay there again!
