Convenient location

Posted Aug 18, 2014
The hotel was very convenient to moving around Richmond plus they had a shuttle. Parking, as in all downtown hotels was expensive but the valet bringing up car was efficient and quick. Staff was very helpful. Lobby very nice, Internet was easy. One thing to be aware of is the postage stamp size bathroom.

Very nice hotel

Cons: Parking is expensive - they only have valet parking @ $20/night.
The hotel was what a hotel should be - it was clean, had many amenities and was conveniently located.

Hotel was clean and well kept. Rooms were basic, nothing really fancy. Hotel staff were amazing. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure we we had everything we needed.

Perfect place to stay when visiting VCU.

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, helpful staff and proximity to campus
Cons: Parking
Location: The 821 Cafe was wonderful! We walked there for dinner one evening.
We chose this hotel due to its proximity to campus when we brought our daughter to tour the VCU campus. We wanted something within walking distance so this was perfect. The staff was friendly and even talked with us about Richmond and the campus. We plan to return in October, and we will definitely stay here again.

Great staff!

The staff was wonderful. The hotel facility could use some updating and the parking was way too expensive and you could not get to your car once it is parked. But the staff was so accommodating and helpful I did not feel so bad about it. The food and wine were very good -

Good Location

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: I liked the location, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant, which is fairly small, had good food for the evening dining.
Cons: The bulk of the hotel could benefit from a good renovation. Carpets are somewhat musty even though not old-looking, the furnishing look kind of dated.
Location: Perfect hotel for most VCU parents, just a few blocks from a large portion of the in-city campus.
This Doubletree has a great location for VCU parents. The rooms are adequate, nothing showy, and for the most part the hotel is clean. Most rooms would have some hallway noise as mine did, but not constant. Lots of pillows on the beds for a good selection, which I really liked. For the most part, it's a comfortable hotel and has all the amenities you need, but don't expect a lot of bells and whistles.

Great stay!

Posted Jul 14, 2014
I recently booked with this hotel (July 11-13) and I was very pleased with my stay. The staff was welcoming and eager to help accomodate any issues I had. The room was very clean my view was amazing (14th floor) the prices we veey reasonable and the location of the hotel is convenient to food and night life. They even have a free shuttle service that picked me up from the Greyhound station and dropped me back off after checkout. The only issue I had was the AC vents were blowing small dust particles around which sent my allergies into over drive my last night there. Other than that I would without a doubt stay there again.
