Nice Hotel, Free Breakfast OK

Pros: Free shuttle, Wifi & Breakfast. Large rooms.
Cons: Mattresses were a bit hard. Hotel check in staff attitude.
Location: Cineplex, IMAX, Restaurants, Arena all in walking distance
First off you MUST call the hotel for the shuttle to pick you up at the airport otherwise you will take the wrong shuttle or end up standing there for a very long time. The shuttle drivers are very nice and talkative and will answer any questions you have. Check in was quick and easy. Staff seemed a bit moody. Room was large and clean with a fridge and microwave. Air conditioning worked great! I found the mattress a bit too firm but each bed had 4 pillows on them so that was convenient. Free Wifi is a bonus. Morning breakfast was ok. Eggs, toast, potatoes, sausage, cereal, pancakes, juice, coffee etc.. Would have been nice if there was regular bacon for those who don't like sausage. Hotel is a bit farther from the airport than I realized but there's so much around it. Cineplex and IMAX Theatres, restaurants and an arena. I would stay there again if given the opportunity.

Disappointed and will not be returning!

This was a big family trip! We had asked to have all 4 rooms next to each other which never happened! I made a mistake and reserved the "accessible" room which I felt terrible doing! Someone else could have used that room! The hotel was full and nothing could be done to help me. The staff was not helpful in communicating this to me and kept telling me that Expedia needed to be contacted as they could not help me! Two of my family members were upgraded to the new wing of the hotel. The hotel needs to renovate the old wing to match this! The old rooms are not worth it! The accessible room needs to renovated badly! People in wheel chairs need nice rooms too! The breakfast is not appetizing either! I will not be staying at this hotel and will not be using Expedia again!

Pros: The hotel seemed new

Location: Too far from everything especially tourist areas
The hotel in general was nice. There were some cleanliness issues when we arrived requiring staff to come back and clean. Housekeeping came very late to clean our rooms the next day. The hotel is far from most things except a movie theatre and a few restaurants. Probably would not stay there again.

Nice place out of town

Pros: Very courteous and helpful staff at front desk - breakfast staff also very professional and helpful.
Cons: This was a disabled access room - we did not find out until we booked in at arrival when it was too late to change to a normal room.
Location: Great IMAX cinema and entertainment centre as well as farmers market walking distance. Easy access to mall in Richmond centre and to Steveston.
We stayed here four nights - it seemed a little out the way and it may have been better to have rented a car for the duration. However, public transport was fine albeit infrequent. Our room was big and the bathroom was a little unusual perhaps because it was a disabled access room. I did ask if this could be changed as we didn't need wheelchair access but the hotel was fully booked over the four days we were staying. We were in the old part of the hotel at the front and the ancient air conditioner was noisy; temperature control was a bit hit and miss being freezing cold when the AC turned on and then really hot and stuffy while it was off. Turning the temperature up or down at the thermostat didn't seem to make much of a difference. Desk and restaurant staff were very professional and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Our trip was enhanced by the Rev Scene motor show in the parking lot outside the hotel on a Sunday.

Convenient for visit to Richmond.

Upsides: nice dining room and reception, ample parking, decent breakfast. Downsides: placed in an ADA room we had not requested. Extra space but light in hall was burned out and closet had to be fixed. Arrangement of washroom was inconvenient. Towels were used up at pool and did not get restocked despite 2 calls, leading to wet hallways and elevator. Hot tub lukewarm at best.

Ideal position for the ferry to Vancouver Island

Pros: It was comfortable and good value for money.
Cons: The breakfast arrangements and quality of.
Location: The hotel is ideally placed but quite hard to find. A nearby golf club has a good restaurant.
The room had everything we needed. We were however disappointed with the breakfast and the free for all to get it in what was a small dining area catering for a large amount of people. The hotel was difficult to find...some directions on our booking details would have been helpful as there are two other Holiday Inns in the area

Cons: Room thermostat
Overall a clean and comfortable hotel offering courteous and efficient service. The only unsatisfactory area was the thermostat in our bedroom which behaved very erratically.

Wreck it Ralph vs. Donkey Kong Jr.

The hotel was clean and roomy. However, I did not appreciate my upstairs neighbor. My 8 year referred to him/her as Donkey Kong Jr. She said they had to jump over barrels! They seemed to be racking up steps on an arm device. As we could hear running around from one side of the room to the other! All this happening at abou 2 in the morning. I called to complain twice. I settled for some earplugs that they gladly provided me with. The neighbors next door were so loud. They kept opening and closing doors. They were in a heated argument. My daughter said it was Wreck it Ralph next door! I was so tired from the lack of sleep😠.

Great customer service

Pros: All the staff we encountered were very helpful and pleasant. Hot breakfast was very good as well.
We had arrived on a morning flight and needed a room so that we could freshen up and change before going to a celebration at 1 pm. Even though we had rooms booked, check in time was 3 pm which was too late for us. Karen at the front desk did everything possible to get us a room so that we could freshen up and change before we had to leave. She succeeded in getting us 2 rooms and we were very grateful. Karen was pleasant and remained calm even though there were other people checking out and asking questions.
