Comfortable and clean

My experience at the Red Roof Inn Richmond South was great. The staff was pleasent the room was clean. Everything was GREAT.. I'll definitely stay there again and recommend the hotel to family & friends.

Drunk and high teens screaming all night

There was a female customer complaining about being overcharged upon our arrival to the check-in counter. Apparently she was told that she had to pay an additional fee for taking the last available room without a prior reservation even though she was a frequent red roof Inn guest. Huh?......I don't get it. The check-in counter associate was okay, did not provide stellar service but got the job done. I did find strange that everyone is charged ahead of time $1.50 for use of the room safe whether you actually use it or not. You actually have to ask to have the fee removed upon checking out or else they keep it. I know it's not much but they're doing it backwards if you ask me. After all, when you go to a restaurant do they charge you ahead of time for all the food and drinks you may consume and then refund you if you don't? The room was in decent condition and most everything looked fine. However, there was no small fridge or microwave as advertised and both beds had stained sheets. We only spent about an hour in the room before we had to leave for my son's soccer game. We finally returned around 10 PM tired, sleepy and ready for bed. Around midnight we heard several loud voices which belonged to drunk teens in the parking lot. They were screaming running around and yelling profanities. This happened again around 2 AM, 3:30 AM, and 4:30 AM. The management office mind you was only about 50 feet away but nobody moved a finger. Never again Red Roof Inn!

We were driving up the coast to Boston from Florida. We wanted a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't far from the highway but that we also felt safe arriving at late at night (since we were unfamiliar with the area). We immediately felt we had made the right choice. Our room was spotless and very updated. The staff was extremely friendly and we would definitely go back!

After a very disappointing night before in a Red Roof in Brunswick, GA, this one was exceptional, the rooms where newly renovated and comfortable, clean and no smoky smell.

Not enough quiet

Pros: Room was clean
I slept four hrs after driving from fla. 4 hrs because at 2am outside noise woke me,tried to go back to sleep but more noise and someone decided to take there 2am shower. Place was packed,I guess it was the rate.now I know better.

Easy access to 95 - pets stay free

There was a pretty noticeable leak coming from the ceiling of the first room we were assigned. I was then given another room which was clean though dated. The staff was friendly and I had no issues. The hotel served it's purpose of providing a place to rest after a long drive with the dog. I would recommend it if that's all you needed.

Cons: Staff friendliness. Maybe a couple of bottled waters and tissue box.
Location: 20 minutes away from the good places in Richmond.
I came in late on a Friday night and had to ring a bell for service. It took a long time for the staff to come and greet me. She never smiled or was pleasant -- just very business like. But the rooms were surprisingly nice! I was impressed with the cleanliness and more modern design.

Pros: The staff was great and the room was clean. It's great that they switched to linoleum floors - hotel carpets usually creep me out.
Location: Right off of the I95, great stopover location. Close to downtown Richmond.
