“baltic states”
this is a nice hotel in a decent neighborhood, very close to the train station and the old city. the hotel is clean and small, but comfort. a neearby church is rather shabby, but closes most of the time. tv is small, but you do not watch tv much. while internet connection is just fine.
“Good hotel”
The hotel is new and rooms are all right, not too big but with everything you may need. People working at the hotel are extremely polited and helpful. The quarter is not bad, but to get to the center of Riga you have to cross the Central Market. The other point is that there were some "tours" lodging at the hotel, this means large groups of people in a not so big hotel, so it was difficult for breakfast or dinner at the hotel, or even to call a taxi while two or three big busses were parked on the acces to the hotel.

“Basic but good”
This hotel is not in immediate vicinity of the old town but close enough to walk back and forth. It is near the huge farmer's market. The Academy Science and Physics building is very close and has an observation balcony for 2 Lats. It provides a fantastic view. The breakfast was good and there was a patio restaurant also. I liked the new and modern decorations and the bathroom was roomy. It has no other amenities but Internet was available in lobby and receptionists were helpful.
“Convenient location”
Very convenient location to train and bus stations. Close to Old Town. Easy to find since it's right behind the Stalin type building which is very unique. Breakfast buffet which is included was adequate, but not great. Rooms were quiet and spacious
“Great hotel in Riga”
My husband and I enjoyed spending 5 nights in the Hanza Hotel. The hotel was walking distance to the Old Town, Market and Bus Station. It had a delicious full breakfast. We had one dinner there, which was excellent. The front desk personnel provided us with bus timetable and other particulars for a trip we took to Rondale Palace. The hotel rates were reasonably priced. The only negative was hearing some noisy people late evening outside our window for two of the nights. We would definitely return there.

I stayed a couple of nights in June 2009. Clean rooms and great staff. Superb value!
“One of Riga's Best Hotels”
The hotel is very comfortable and located within short distance of the city center. It offers a good variety of rooms (standard to suite) as well as a good breakfast buffet. Small disadvantage is the location is a little difficult to access/find at night, otherwise it's a great place to stay on a short vacation to Latvia.
