Well located, centrally located to major sitesPosted Aug 14, 2012 on Hotels.com
Comfortable and quiet, nice big room. Only complaint is that elevator wasn't working, so had to carry luggage up/down stairs.

Not bad for the price, but not really 4 starPosted Aug 2, 2012
The Metropole, was once a stately hotel with dignitaries and celebrities staying there in the years past. While still a very nice little hotel and not bad for the price, personally I would call it more 3 stars than 4. The staff, breakfast and general conditions of the hotel were great, but with no air conditioning, weak internet, limited selection in the minibar (not to mention really horrible white wine), and limited amenities in the bath, I find the 4 star rating a little exaggerated.

good choicePosted Jul 15, 2012
Delicious breakfast. Comfortable beds. Blair conditioning & the days were muggy, sowewere uncomfortable. This wash elped a little when we borrowed a fan. It would also have helped had we gotten a room not the busy front street. We would go back again. Wonderful, helpful, pleasant, motivated staff. Convenient location on edge of Old Town, near an excellent bakery, banks, indoor shopping mall, and great restaurants.

Fab little hotel, great locationPosted Jul 6, 2012
We booked an economy room with double bed. Room was beautiful, with high ceiling and large window. Staff very friendly and breakfast was good. Free wifi, nice reception area and great location at the edge of the old town. Highly recommended.

Better places availablePosted Jun 25, 2012
Having stayed here previosuly I was a little disappointed on this visit. It seems half the hotel is not used any more and overall the whole feeling of the place is dated.....it hasn't moved with the times. The location is great for the old town and it is a good price but I will probably stay elsewhere next time. There is no air conditioning and if you have a room on the front of the hotel the road outside is very noisy with trams at all hours - not too bad with windows closed but enough to wake even me with them open! Wifi internet was free to use in the lobby (service intermittent) and 4Ls per week to use in the room. If I hear that they refurbish I'll stay again, but in the mean-time look elsewhere.

Great place to stay in Riga.Posted Dec 21, 2011
Pros: The friendly staff.
Location: It is located in Center Riga, not far from Old Riga, with a beautiful park across the street.
Very clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They even helped my with wrapping my Christmas gifts that I had brought for the friends I was visiting.
