The hostel is located in the Old Town, very convenient to walk from main bus stops. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, museums and parks within walking distance too. The hostel had a small kitchenette, not really suitable for preparing a meal which was a disadvantage. It was more suited to warming up food. Storage space limited too in the kitchen area. A continental breakfast would have been a nice extra given the cost to stay there, but it was ok. There was no common room or similar or anywhere to 'chill' out or meet others staying. The advantage of the room was that it was large enough to sit and watch anything on your own computer (if you can bring one with budget airline weight restrictions!). The room was clean and tidy and the bedding of better quality than most hostels. What I liked about the room is that it was reasonably secure with your own key, as we chose a two bedded room. The bathroom was shared, appeared new and of super quality. Water presurre, particularly in the shower did not match up to the newness of fittings, but it was nice. Bathroom was clean and had few users making it more pleasant to use. The only complant I do have is the staff making noise loudly up to gone 1am from their desk downstairs making it difficult to sleep. This despite signage to guests not to make noise after 11pm, but it was bearable. In short - Red Nose is a place to go if you are seeking a clean, easy to get to and secure place to sleep (only). I would return if in Riga again.

Great location!Posted Jul 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location is great, right in the middle of all the must-see sights. The hotel staff is helpful and the facility in general very clean. But remember to bring your own towel, soap, and shampoo.
