We booked this hotel for the Christmas market, it is situated on the river, and is a short walk over the railway bridge to the beautiful Cathedral, lovely views from our window. The hotel was very clean and the room was amazing. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay.

Used it as going to an event in the Lanxness Arena, for which it was incredibly convenient. Also did a couple of days touring around Cologne and its proximity to the Metro, which was also easy to use, made it ideal for this as well. Staff were helpful and pleasant, the rooms were clean and roomy, and the breakfast was one of the best I have had. The only minor complaints were that the parking was an additional cost and you had to pay for the use of the Internet which in this day and age is bizarre.

We chose the Leonardo for its location and the fact it had secure parking.
The room was spacious and clean located on 5th floor. We did book superior to get extra space. Not much of a view but thats not what we wanted anyway. Beds were comfortable. Kettle in room with complimentary tea and coffee.
The TV had lots of English channels BBC ITV Film4 etc.
We went swimming once but pool was too cold. Plenty of fresh towels. A bit dated and as it was in the cellar no natural light.
Two pc terminals in reception which were free to use.
Nice bar. Breakfast was really good.
Lots of shops nearby. Supermarket right next door. Tram at the end of the road. Rover ticket cost 9 €\day
Definitely will use them again and good value for money.

"Good, basic, cheap accomodation in a good location."
I stayed in the hostel for a gig at the Lanxess arena. It is a 5 min walk from there so is a great location if you're going to the arena. The train station is opposite the hostel so it's easy to get to.
The city centre is the next train stop away or a 15 minute walk over a bridge across the Rhine.
The room was basic but clean and had a private toilet and shower, which for a hostel, is good. Breakfast is provided. Nothing fancy but does the job.
When I arrived I asked to change to a smaller room as a friend had cancelled and they were happy to do this and only charge for the small room. There is a small shop in reception which sells drinks and snacks. The staff speak English which was helpful.

I came to visit Cologne for the Amphi festival. I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel which was quite close to the venue. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly though there was a language barrier at times, which is why I think it helps to try and learn some German. I had a problem with having to get room key cards activated on a daily basis. But this might have been because I thought I was staying on my own at first and the hotel just had me registered to the room. And a word of warning about roaming! I'd make sure if you are on contract that you contact your provider before going abroad to make sure that roaming is enabled. It cost me quite a lot of money calling home from the hotel room. I'd certainly go back again though.
