I loved our cabin very much. My only suggestion would be to have mattress covers under the fitted sheets. Sleeping almost directly on a mattress is not very hygienic. There should be a barrier between the mattress and the fitted sheet that can be removed and sanitized.

Authentic, beautiful place with charming hosts
What an authentic and beautiful place with the most genteel, charming and gracious hosts! Several forest walking paths and an orange tree outside the cottage with a never-ending stream of varied bird life to watch. And chocolate factory on site - very interesting.

Calm, cool perfection
This place is perfection in so many ways: the grounds are impeccable and just like you see them in the pictures. Few, if any, mosquitos. Cool high elevation air. The cabins are large, quiet, private and have mini refrigerators along with quiet surroundings and great privacy. Above all, owner/operator Pablo is charming, nice, attentive, but also lets you have your space. Everything you ask for, you get that same day! For example, our shower head was broken, but still just fine. It was fixed by the time we got back from hiking that afternoon! There were hammocks and comfortable chairs on the private deck of the huts. Just a very quiet, calm, familial stay in what felt like a very upscale resort. Pablo made it feel like we were staying with a friend of the family! This place is very highly recommended and could be a relaxing destination of its own. Just know that it is almost two hours to the Rincon de la Viejo national parks; but very well worth it (beautiful drive too). Dinner is at 6 pm. (traditional Costa Rican food: some veggies, some potatoes or rice, and some meat - ask ahead of time if you have other desires). A very fulfilling breakfast is served around 7.30. Upon request or if time allows; see the on-site chocolate factory! Don't miss the cocoa nibs for breakfast or in the nice store! Enjoy.

Wish we could have stayed longer than 3 nights here. This place is a wonderful representation of the nicest Costa Rican hospitality and dedication to the environment. Individual cottages are perfect, even with an occasional insect! Food was fresh and delicious. Best dark chocolate ever is made here.

What an amazing experience at La Anita Rainforest Ranch. My 18 year daughter and I stayed for three nights and wish we would have stayed longer. It was one of the best experiences of our two week trip to Costa Rica. Pablo, his family and staff went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. The cabins were beautifully rustic and had all the amenities we needed. The property is beautiful and Pablo was very helpful to set up activities for us during our stay. We went horseback riding through the rainforest with Edgar, who is a horse whisperer and it was incredible with spectacular views. Then we enjoyed a Caribbean cooking class with Araselli, who was a lovely person and makes fantastic food. The breakfasts and dinners at the lodge were delicious and we felt like part of the family by the end of our stay. We loved every minute of and would love to come for another visit. Highly recommend this place for a true local Costa Rican experience.

We simply loved our stay at Ranch Anita! If you’re looking for a serene atmosphere to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, this is the place. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch of our cabina taking in the beautiful surroundings. Our meals were delicious and the view from the dining area is beautiful. Pablo is a wonderful and welcoming host and a wealth of information about Costa Rica and sharing his passion for his ranch, the environment, his cacao plantation and the process of his chocolate production. Pablo and his wife Ana were so welcoming and a pleasure to meet. Our experience was excellent and we will visit again.

Our cabin accommodation was excellent and the grounds are expansive and beautifully landscaped. Some of the road to reach La Anita was very rough but the ride was worth it. We would highly recommend visiting La Anita Rainforest Ranch.

Highly recommend visiting this beautiful place in Costa Rica. Took a little bit to get there from the airport but it was well worth it. Yes the road leading up to the ranch has major potholes but it was a lot of fun to drive on. Make sure you get an SUV if you can. Pablo was a wonderful host, I consider him a friend now after staying there for three nights. I got two wonderful massages from Sonia which were excellent. Pablo has two wonderful dogs that became my buddies. The food is fresh, the cacao tour was the bomb! make sure you take home lots of their delicious choc bars. Sad that mine is almost gone. We checked out a nearby hot spring/ mud bath which was a lot of fun. My favorite part of the ranch was lying in bed at night listening to all of the birds and rainforest critters around me. Very affordable place to vacation to. I guess my only complaint would be that there was no where to go after dinner to hang out other than your room and because the cabins are somewhat close to each other your neighbors could be disturbed if you talk a little loud. We are not generally early to bed people so that was a bit of a challenge. It was very quiet abd peaceful overall on the ranch and I didn’t see any children. Also next time I visit I will bring a couple extra towels, probably could’ve got some from the staff but didn’t want to bother them.

Four night at La Anita
While visiting Costa Rica, I wanted to stay a place that was rural, not a mega resort, had amenities, had charm, and was authentic to its surroundings, and at La Anita I found this. Anna and Pablo, the owners, were on hand and were very: welcoming, engaging, accommodating, and helpful. I regret that I didn't rent a 4x4, which I recommend, at the LIR, but the owners of La Anita arranged transportation and payment for me from LIR to La Anita, a day excursion to a national park, and then on to my next destination...The meals I ate at La Anita were delicious, organic, homemade, and genuine to Coast Rica. Being a solo traveler I also enjoyed that their dinning was semi-family style as it gave me a chance to converse with other guests. La Anita is a working cacao farm and offers a tour of its cacao production. This tour was absolutely worth it just for the chocolate tasting alone! Honestly, I also enjoyed just walking around the beautiful grounds.

If you are looking for a beautiful different experience you would love it. Only a few rooms, quiet , manicured grounds, impecible service. The owners Ana and Pablo are at the top of the hospitality industry. They make you feel like a guest in there home. Will help with any information , activities, anything. The food was so fresh and delicious. If you want a real costa rican stop, go here. Relaxing, hiking, beautiful country side. I cannot give it any higher reccomendation and i am premier Member in hilton, hyatt, fairmont, and IHG. Get a four wheel drive , the road travelled to get to a great place is bumpy.

Amazing
My wife and I just got back from spending two days at this amazing location. We could not have been more impressed. Everything we did was fantastic. It was a bit difficult to get to but that made the experience even better. Pablo and Anna are the most wonderful and helpful owners I've ever come across and their entire staff was fantastic. If there was anything we wanted to do, such as a canopy tour, zip line or hike to a nearby waterfall Pablo arranged it for us, had lunches packed and even billed it to our room so that all we had to do was show up and enjoy. The food here was amazing. This is taking farm to table as far as the concept can possibly go. I could go on and on about how fantastic it is here.

Great place to stay in Guanacaste!
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at La Anita Rainforest Ranch! We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the chocolate tour (which was very fun and informative, cost was $40 per person) and hiking on the property. Pablo and Ann were extremely organized and gracious hosts! They let us borrow boots for hiking and set us up with a tour guide to do a half day trip in the rainforest where we were able to see monkeys and go in natural hot springs. The food was delicious and the dessert always had chocolate in it! There are only 10 cabins on the property, so you really get to know the other people who are staying there as well. Be sure to FOLLOW THE MAP given by Pablo and Ann; we followed google and ended up on a road so bad we had to turn around. Their map brings you a much better way. We thought we would be "roughing it" a bit at this location, but we found the whole place to be extremely clean and comfortable!

A wonderful, authentic experience
Ana and Pablo have a piece of paradise in Costa Rica at La Anita Rainforest Ranch. The hotel and surrounding property is breathtakingly beautiful. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner served with organic food either grown on their own property or from the nearest local town. They help you set up varies activities with the locals or direct you to the nearest place that can serve your needs. Ana and Pablo treated us like family and made our experience genuine and better than I could have even imagined.

Beautiful cabins secluded in the mountains
The setting is breathtaking, with the volcanoes and rain forests surrounding you and gorgeous wildlife throughout. The hosts Ana and Pablo are incredible warm caring people who have unmatched hospitality. The tour of the chocolate plantation is a must - samples were delicious. Eat the food they prepare; it is fresh, tasty, and they can accommodate vegetarians. Most guests had rented a car because getting there requires some smaller gravel roads through tiny towns. The facilities are done with excellent taste, and there is wifi in the main cabin. Perfect getaway! We can't wait to come back! Gracias Ana y Pablo!

Authentic
If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience, the La Anita Rainforest Ranch resort is the place to go. You are about 2 hours from Liberia in the Guanacaste region. If you like mountains, forests, rivers & wildlife, you will fall in love with the area! Catering to active couples who enjoy adventure tourism, the resort owners (and your gracious hosts) Pablo & Ana can suggest and arrange a wide variety of activities to customize your stay.

Cabin in Paradise
You will have to endure bone-crunching unpaved potholed roads to get to Finca Anita, but once you are there, you will be warmly welcomed by owners Pablo and Ana. The cabins are well designed; their main asset is a wide front porch with two rocking chairs and a hammock. The views are spectacular. By far the highlight of our trip was the tour of the cacao plantation, which also involved tasting a lot of chocolate and learning the process for growing and processing the cacao nibs. There is wifi in a common area near the chocolate processing building. The inside of the main lodge is set up to serve meals. There are no menus or prices posted so you might worry that the hosts would take advantage of the remoteness of the place and overcharge. In fact, beer and glasses of wine were billed at three bucks, breakfast was under ten bucks and dinner (three courses---salad or soup, meat with vegetables and dessert) was fourteen dollars. Pablo was accommodating in terms of setting up hikes or adventures for guests, and had the uncanny ability to remember every guest's name, despite there being nine cabins. It was a very personal experience. On the cautionary side, there is no hot water in the bathroom sink for shaving. It is helpful to have the flashlight app on your phone so you can safely traverse the path back to your cabin after dark. There are two friendly pooches to pet and a couple of horses fenced in front of the cabins.

Beautiful ranch set in the rainforest
Private cabin and deck set in gorgeous grounds between two volcanoes. Flowers, birds, wildlife calling in the distance. Absolutely loved it for rest and relaxation, as well as excursions (horseriding in the rainforest; day trip to Rio Perdido hot springs; tour of chocolate farm). Meals have a local flare and food was excellent and plentiful. Very grateful to Pablo and Anna for a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful experience on a beautiful organic ranch that includes a full cacao production. CR Owners were fully involved in all aspects of the operations, sharing their passion for their country and their work with all of their guests. Remote location in Ricon de Vieja rainforest, the owners were happy to help plan activities hiking, horseback riding, cacao tour, zip lining, and more. Facilities were simple and kept in pristine condition. We learned so much during our stay. What a wonderful introduction for these first time visitors to CR.

Very remote but very beautiful. The cabins are clean, spacious and modern. The food is basic but very good. The hosts are kind and caring. A great place to relax and enjoy the environment - very low key. Works well also for those willing to travel an hour or so to explore the area. Very peaceful.

Unique and authentic
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this rainforest lodge that is located just outside a small village. The lodge is remote and basic but also quiet, peaceful, very clean and comfortable. Anna and Pablo are excellent hosts--they greeted us warmly each day and helped us plan our days when we asked. We did a wide range of activities and ate well every morning and night at the lodge. The other guests were delightful. We loved watching for birds while eating breakfast and finding constellations after dinner. This was a perfect vacation for us.

Great Getaway
This is a wonderful place to get away from everything, connect with nature and good people and relax. The ranch is beautiful and the owners are wonderful! My only feedback is to know going in that your options for food in the area are somewhat limited. (This place is not easy to access, even in a car, because of all the unpaved roads. Luckily La Anita has signs to direct you.) They make excellent fresh food on the ranch, but it's not cheap. (We had an additional $200 charge for a few dinners and breakfasts added to our bill, which I had not budgeted for. I think dinner was about $14 per person, which is quite high in this area! But again, the food was very good so it's tough to really complain...) Overall, a wonderful stay.

Great experience!
La Anita was not what we expected but we loved it. It's a little like going away to camp. The cabins are gorgeous and so clean but be warned...they have screens rather than windows. Sleeping was a challenge at times due to the noise. The hammock on the porch was amazing as was the food and the hosts.
