Hotel was fine but price/quality just wasn't there

Hotel was alright but price was high for what you get. Noisy, in front of the elevator, no room service, no refill of coffee in room, air conditioning blows right on the bed. The internet worked well so that was a relief. Another strange problem was the front of the hotel was barely visible from the street. Taxis couldn't find it until it was too late. Nevertheless, room big and generally comfortable. Would have been nice to have plates and cutlery given it was a 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen. I couldn't cut and serve my mango I bought.

For the location this is a very good value hotel. The rooms are large and very clean.

Pros: Location location location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Beach, great bars and restaurants.
Could not be better placed to explore Ipanema and Leblon. Helpful concierge and very close to stunning Ipanema beach.

The Mercure is cozy, quiet, tasteful and friendly. It is located in the most-convenient part of town for my purposes, and the combination of these features encourage me to return and to recommended to others.
