“Wonderful experience”

We had the chance to enjoy a wonderful start of 2009 in Rio. Gavea Tropical was a small palace with a great view on the city, Lagoa, national park, Rocinha and Cristo! A great hideout which we would certainly recommend and especially if you have the chance to drink the best cachaça (actually pinga) with the Belgian owner..

Great hotel. Set 20 minute walk from the beaches / 5 mins taxi ride in peaceful hillside location with superb views of Rio and its famous statue.

“Off the Beaten Path, but Very Nice”

I really liked the hotel. It is off the beaten path, but close enough to Leblon and Ipanema. The view is great and the staff is excellent. I lived in Rio and have seen a lot of hotels in Rio. This one is worth a few days.
