Had great view over the bay and the beach. The weather was not good so I spent more time in the hotel than I would normally. Room comfortable, clean and well looked after. Very pleasant stay.

“Good option for business travelers in Rio”

This hotel fits the bill for clean, updated, well maintained business hotel. Great breakfast as well. Only hassle is a slow front desk, because large groups of tourists tend to clog up the check out process. I'd overlook that though in my recommendation -- its a great hotel and superb location on Copacabana beach.

“Beautiful location”

The hotel is right in front of the famous Copacabana beach. The pool in the roof is really TINY, but the view is incredible. The hotel has organised tours, but there is also a car rental agency located in the lobby so if you're a group of 3 or 4 it might be better if you rent a car with a driver and have the freedom of going anywhere you want at any time. Our room (triple) was very spacious and clean and although it was facing the back, we had a view of the Corcovado mountain. The breakfast buffet (6-10 am.) is delicious and will satisfy all tastes. Overall it was an excellent choice and the few extra money it cost to stay at the beach was worth it.

“This Hotel was first class”

This Hotel was first class, from the reception to the room maid, not forgetting those ever present bell boys, nothing was too much for them, most, most helpful. The breakfast was to die for, me I am a really big eater, but it was just too much for me to handle, the choice was great. Cannot wait to return, this Hotel I highly recommend.

We just came back from a Trip to Rio where we stayed one night at the Hotel Astoria Palace. The service and accomadations were great and we couldn't believe the value for the price since it was right off the beach! Would highly recommend to other travellers.

“GREAT PLACE TO STAY! PERFECT LOCATION!”

This was my husband first trip to Brazil and I wanted to make sure that he had a good experience. The hotel is located 2 buildings from Copacabana Palace, so it is situated in the best location of Copacabana beach. The view from upstairs is really nice and you can relax in the pool deck until late. Room service was fast. We got the room with the ocean view (the hotel does not have balconies), which I highly recommend. Breakfast was really great. They have a room set up with a lot of pastries, natural juices, fruits... really nice! The beach was very safe. There were a lot of police cars in front of the hotel and in the beach area.

A friend suggested this hotel to us, and we are ever grateful. Location, decor, amenities, breakfast buffet, friendly staff....we could not have been happier. We definitely recommend this establishment.

“very good hotel”

Great hotel. Seemed to be very clean. Great breakfeast and location. The only bad thing is that the elevators get a little noisy at night, and the front balcony man only advised to go to the attractions they advertised (which they obviously get paid for), almost telling me out loud everything else was crap. Oh, and if you need a cab and want to call it from the hotel, ask specifically for the yellow ones, otherwise they wii call their own cabs (black ones), which are somehow more expansive.

I had been traveling on business and had a bottle of cachaça under each arm, an overstuffed carry on bag and was sunburned from a day with a client who was test driving a $200,000 boat. His best friend wanted me to start distributing the booze in the US; I sell electronic components. On the way op in the elevator, I glanced up at the display and saw that the bellboy had pressed the top floor. "Woh," I said. The bellboy smiled big and nodded fast. My guess it's easier to sell my ocean front room to a walk in than the penthouse suite. If you're looking for an over the top experience, the penthouse suite offers a pleasant entry room, breakfast nook, real walk in closet in the bedroom with a comfortable king bead and a panoramic picture window of the hills and Corcovado. The spa bathroom sports all glass and blinds towards the hills again, a generous shower, whirlpool tub, private sauna and dual glass sinks that embarrass you to spit toothpaste into. The Penthouse suite looses the private ocean front view, but the rooftop terrace is just outside your room past the convenient bar that's open in the evenings. The terrace is open to all hotel guests, but it's almost like they're your personal guests to mingle with. There's a clean pool with fountain, exercise room and public sauna. Breakfast off the lobby is above average for an included breakfast and public areas of the hotel are all well maintained.
