Nice simple hotelPosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: The breakfast is execellent
Cons: The attitude of the senior staff that speak english.. Yes, they carry a bilingual broche. .Drop the might high attitude and the hotel is good
Location: The location is excellent and close to almost everything in Copacabana. Even thought is not beachfront, but the location is excellente
I stayed 5 nights. The first people that I encountered were very nice... And welcomed me as one of their own.

Great HotelPosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: The bus station was really close, breakfast includes, clean rooms, close walk to the beach.
Cons: Customer service at the front desk, the tours you offer are just to expensive.
Location: Short walk to the beach which was really good.
We stayed at the hotel for the world cup and it's a really nice hotel, the bus station is just two blocks away if you're a tourist and want to go and visit places. The room was always cleaned and the breakfast was always really good. The only thing that could be changed is the amount of time they take to check guest in and out, most of the staff was always really nice but there was a man at the front rest that was always on the middle computer on the morning shift that was not as nice as the other two girls.

Good hotel for the price.Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Proximity to the beach.
The hotel is about 4 blocks away from the beach and it is very secure. The staff at the hotel are helpful and they speak various languages, so it was always easy to communicate with them about tours, different beaches, and even how to get to the maracana (we were there for the world cup). You can also see a view of Christ the Redeemer from the pool at the top of the hotel; however, I did not use the pool or the two treadmills they have up there, so I can't comment on those specifically. Rua Barrata Ribbero is a very popular street, so there were always plenty of people on the street and the hotel is close to many different stores and restaurants so it's location is ideal for a non-expensive hotel within 10 mins of the beach. Also, the breakfast buffet at the rest

Good south american experiencePosted Jun 18, 2014
This hotel staff are great, very helpful especially Garcia. The rooms are clean and basic but if you turn up expecting a south american hotel you will love it. If you are expecting a 5 star luxury hotel this is not for you. Good location and lots of local bars near by 2 streets from the beach.

Not recommendedPosted May 22, 2014
Very old hotel. The staff were very rude. The breakfast was grease, eggs looks grey. Nothing special. The are is a construction next to the hotel. 3 blocks from Ipanema Beach, at night is very lonely to walk.

Good HotelPosted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Close to all facilities
Cons: The breakfast was great, the dining room for dinner was well below standard, the steak was terrible
Location: Near the beach and transport
The staff at reception made our stay, Simone was so helpful and went beyond the call of duty, she made our stay in RIO , in helping with tours when our prebooked tours with Expedia less us down she got us an alternative. The hotel would be less attractive without her help as her English was perfect, this is where a staff member make a stay memberable.

Overall a good experiencePosted Dec 16, 2013
The hotel was nice, but you have to know what to expect. From my experience, hotels in Brazil and Europe can often be older facilities than what we have in the US. This doesn't make it a bad place, though, just know what to expect. Yes, the rooms are very basic and older, but the hotel is affordable and the staff are friendly. Overall, I think it was a good experience for the price I paid. One recommendation though is to see the city on your own and not use one of their offered packages. The city is very easy to navigate by taxi, metro, and bus; and you will save a ton of money by doing it on your own if you have the time!

Not livablePosted Nov 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
We ha booked 4 night and only stay less then 8 hours. Rooms were outdated felt like we were in a scary movie. Bathroom had no Celling so we can here the people next door and upstairs while they were doing their business and blowing their nose and you can imagine the rest. The view was to a building across the street. It was only 2 blocks from the beach. But to walk that at night was pretty scary. The roof was the only nice thing in this hotel and the service was okay. They had to switch our room because the a/c was not working. If i had to stay. I think i would have sleep near the pool for the remaining 3 days.

The hotel is in a good location, only three blocks from Copacabana beach shore, so it is easily in walking distance (less than 5 minutes). There are restaurants, convenient stores, and bars in walking distance. The rooms are a bit small and we recently stayed in late September 2013 and there was construction nearby that was very loud and unpleasant. Construction was from 10am to 4pm. However, for the money and price, it is fair and worth it. Rooms at my time were going between $180-220 a night depending on weekdays vs weekends. The Breakfast buffet was delicious and included in the price. You will need to pay for internet which is around $15 Brazilian Dollars a day. If your under a budget, this is a nice hotel to book.
