Good LocationPosted Jul 17, 2014
The hotel is in a great location, right across the street from the center of Copacabana beach. Lots of restaurants in the area too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good english. The hotel itself is ok, the lobby is a decent enough place to hang out but the rooms could definitely use a refresh. Our room had a strong smell of cleaning products after each cleaning and there was heavy mildew on the bathroom ceiling. The sound proofing was poor. I'm sure if you got a room on an upper floor with a view of the beach it would be nicer, but we weren't that lucky. I don't think I would stay here again, but I'm not sure how this place compares to other hotels in the area in the same price range.

Great Hotel!Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Right on Atlantica avenue, perfect location for enjoying the beach.
I stayed at the Olinda Rio during the world cup and it could not have a been a better experience. They gave us a beach side room, which meant that we had a view of the entire Copacabana from our room. However, if you are a light sleeper, you may not want a beachside room because Copacabana is busy at all times of the night and there will be noise coming from the beach until the late morning hours. The room was clean, the hotel staff were really nice and spoke different languages so we had no problems communicating, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The lobby of the hotel also has a grand piano and there was someone playing the piano during the early evening hours as the sun went down. All in all, this is a great place to stay giving that it is a beach front hotel and all the amenities, staff, and rooms are great.

Great Hotel for a GREAT PRICEPosted May 21, 2014
Pros: It was newly renovated and the staff was extremely helpful.
Cons: Nothing. They had nice facilities and the best prices along Copa beach.
Location: It is right on Copacabana beach. Ipanema is nearby. It is conveniently located near many attractions. It is a 30 minute cab ride from everything.
Our stay was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They looked out for us. They helped us with anything we needed. They even accompanied us off the grounds a few time to make sure we found our way to places. I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel looks like it was recently renovated as well. The lobby definitely has a nice clean an elegant look.

Pros: Great location, great staff, nice lobby area
Cons: Only minor - taps in the room were difficult to turn off, toilet paper needed a better dispensing system, coffee machine in the room would be nice
Location: Location is great, you can walk straight across the road to the beach. Felt safe in the area.
We had a great time at Olinda Rio Hotel. The best thing is the location, it is right on the beach. The hotel is everything you need, a clean comfortable room. The staff were very professional and helpful, and at the main desk proficient in English. The building is a little older but fairly well maintained. I would say it is good value for money - it is not 5 star so there are a few things missing (e.g. no coffee in the room, no swimming pool or gym) but you can't expect that anyway when you are not paying 5 star prices.

Great staff, so-so hotelPosted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, lobby, breakfast
Cons: noise levels, better windows, repaired bits and pieces
Location: Close to Copacabana Beach
This hotel's location and staff are the best thing going for it. However, the rooms were uncomfortable for myself (I switched rooms due to my first being unbelievably small and loud) and my colleagues. Between our three rooms, we probably could have combined different elements to make one good room. My room's size, my colleague's shower, but with my other colleague's water temperature. WiFi was hit and miss depending on your room. The windows are quite old and you can literally fit your hand between the upper and lower windows. That makes for a very noisy night. The staff deserves mention however as they are wonderful and accommodating. With a significant upgrade this hotel could be very, very nice.

good hotel, excellent location close to the beachPosted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: the location , copacabana beach
Cons: hotel has to be renovated ; the lounge is quite sad; no paintings, nude walls, windows of the rooms with handle broken and dificult to open
excellent staff and location in front of copacabana beach; the hotel is a little bit old and need to be renovated. after checking out and in case you have a late flight, you have only a toilet to change your clothes
